343 - Visible Ranks in lobbies / Fireteams

Does this bother anyone else? Why do I have to go to the post-carnage report to see what ranks my team mates/opponents are? I want to be able to see these ranks in fireteam and pre-game lobbies. Maybe I’m in the minority here…idk

Nope, you’re a part of the majority. There’s a lot of things we are striving to achieve but sometimes there is no avail within the community.

The game did only just come out. If you people keeps making posts like this where they don’t needlessly complain, they’re sure to patch it in or something

The reason they decided not to show ranks because Halo MCC was a huge proving ground. The Multiplayer data there showed 343I that the majority of players used the ranking system so see how skilled their opponents were and would quit and even Block the player if they thought they were to skilled.

The Ranking system in MCC and how the player community there taught 343I a lot.

Why do you think you don’t see players ranks on MCC anymore till the post carnage reports

Your point is nullified due to the fact the players can not back out of lobbies without being banned.

Yes.

For me it helped form a predisposition and could significantly affect my game play. With how unbalanced MCC matching was, it wasn’t uncommon to run into people 20-30 higher levels than you. It would usually make me come in with a defeatist attitude. Now with running blind ranks, I just assume everyone is around my skill level and play accordingly. I’ve come to enjoy post game rank viewing.

Fair point for MCC however this ranking system actually works, at least for me. It’s not that I dislike viewing the post-game stats, for me it’s more of a bragging rights sort of thing, I am proud of the rank I’ve achieved and it seems like others would be also.

Because, attitudes of gamers over the years have changed. Seeing someone of higher rank no longer fuels people to beat them to get bragging power. Now they get scared that this person is going to be so much better than them and in previous games leads to quitting.

In a situation where SBMM actually functions this wouldn’t matter as you’d be put against people of your skill bracket. But of course, seems this day and age people don’t want that, they want to be put against bad players so they can go pubstomp and feel like they’ve accomplished something.
