343 using forge for new content?

That is literally what they did in Halo 5 not surprised they’re repeating that again

I wouldn’t say rushed out by gamers because it was the gamers that told 343 to take more time on making infinite back in 2019 when they were thinking of releasing it before covid hit.

But I do believe the higherups at Xbox or Microsoft had a hand with infinite’s early garbage launch. Making it a 3rd halo that 343 has released back to back with a terrible launch.

Well I’m sure they we add some more content. But ya it’s gona be up to the user’s to make some of our classic maps. I just hope For has some of the commands we need
I would like to try to make a map from Halo Online called “Diamond Back”.
Here is the map of Diamondback I modded back in 2015:

Linky: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsl0YhjAqCk

Like the following:

  1. Copy objects.
  2. Undo objects.
  3. Remove, move and add all barriers. ( IE: kill and some barriers )
  4. To be able to add any and remove any objects in any map.
  5. More Prefabs. IE: ( Buildings and Scenery ect. ect. )
  6. Bigger Budgets for Objects.
  7. Magnet command.
  8. Easy Scripting.

Well that’s all I can think of now. I’m sure there is more.

Peace! :fist_right: :fist_left:

Side Note: I will be working on the stock Capture The Flag and Stockpile maps to make them more the Traditional way first. The way Halo has always been played.
( Back in the old days lol of playing )
Then I be working on the Halo Online DIamondback map.

Using the world lazy is an understatement.

Unfortunately, this is most likely the best course of action forward because 343 themselves have proven time and again they know nothing about map design or map sandbox health.

Just look at Breaker and the ridiculous Vehicle to Sniping weapon balance. It’s more or less a fight between the 2 opposing snipers and vehicle crew, while every other player boots on the ground has to hide in buildings to avoid the other two.

Now, I’m A-Ok with them giving us a crappy customization scene, it’s pretty much set in stone now and I’ve honestly given up and decided to live with what I have, but if that’s how they wanna live service their game, they had better give us the FULL extent of Forge, as well as give us other things like Firefight.

If they can do that much for us, fix desync and sort out remaining stability issues, I’d say we can call it even between us old Halo diehards and 343. For now. Until they shaft us again.

I’m not sure why people are trying to paint this as a bad thing.

Forge is very popular. And I’m sure the (very talented) Forger’s out there would love more pathways to get their maps “published”.

This is what Forge is for. It’s why we all love Forge. We want to see the innovation.

I hope to God that 343 embrace the Forge community and give everyone a chance to get their stuff out there and into the hands of the players

343 in general need to do alot of community embracing, they certainly haven’t done so in a long while. I still remember being told to “shut my mouth-hole, son”

I wish we could speak freely on this forum, and stop being told “don’t post none constructive feedback”. It doesn’t matter and 343 has literally shown it doesn’t matter to them if there is constructive feedback out not. (They are going to do what they want to do, not what any of us would hope or like to see them do. There actions has literally shown this.

Some think the forge would means “this would give them a chance to catch up”. That is 100% false given the actual fact that 343 is struggling just to add basic things to a Halo game and it’s going on a year, with 6 years of development prior to the beta being released. Forge would will help a bit when it comes to players spending time playing the beta, (but it will not help with all the technical issues that 343 has not been able to deal with.)

This tells me when forge world is released it’s going to have major issues. 343 seriously needs to get the issues fixed in this beta before they release forge world, because if they don’t, they will see another huge chunk of the player base drop off that will never return, as if that hasn’t happened already with how the beta released.

Players have had enough of these multi-billion dollar businesses putting out half-backed games riding off of shops.

thats true. the base maps have given me a good idea at where to start and innovate.

You and I; I believe, have butted heads a few times on this but I think we Ultimately agree that we will continue to scream for it; But right now this game needs more love and whilst it’s frustrating customization and store don’t matter as much as say… A non monetized forge and desync. I’ve always respected your stance on that

The only shimmer, or should I say carefully guarded.ember of hope; I have is that since there has been no word on fire fight and 343 seems to be going this strange destiny 1 story card route is that players are going to be designs maps for it.

If that’s also the case will we be able to introduce narrations to this as well or will everyone be forced to read a few paragraphs before we jump in?

So many questions hang in the air.

While other Dev studios have come under fire occasionally for “Over-Promising” by showcasing alot of WIP content in Dev Blogs or Dev Streams, I feel like 343 desperately needs a Dev Stream every month or so in order to show us they’re actually still passionate about the game.

The faith in 343 is already an all time low, Drop Pods certainly don’t do anything to keep players interested as they are mentioned and emphasized to be “Dropped as soon as they’re ready” content. They need to start doing Dev Blog and Dev Streams, showcasing teasers, trailers, WIPs even to get the community interested again.

And Flights, we need Flights for things. I’m really surprised Catalyst, LSS and Breaker wasn’t even pushed out early for flighting so that alot of its day 1 problems could be patched before the major release. This is not how 343 should be handling Infinite, by stashing away stuff for people to leak.

If 343 still believes they have anything to gain by hiding away things from the community, they are sorely mistaken. They are in this state in the first place because they have been hiding away things from the community, be it game modes, content or even cosmetic options.

It’s honestly a sad sight to watch Halo Youtubers cope so hard, announcing every tiny little update they can dig out in order to keep what little Halo fans remaining hopeful.

I wish microtransactions were nickel and dimed
343 only uses macrotransactions ~$5 and $10+
Over 10x the price of the Battle Pass with under 10% of the content. One incomplete armor set. Maybe a coating.

If we are making all the maps until 2025, they should up the quality AND quantity of the shop items, or else they have no excuse for slacking

Omg yes I cant wait for forge maps! I absolutely loved and adored the plastic, stale looking forge pieces in Halo 5’s fan maps. I hate lovingly-crafted original maps made in house by the studio.

This.

Post anything remotely truthful and you’re hit with “Be MoRe CoNsTrUcTiVe.”

I’ve never been a fan of the Forge Maps. Since H3. Reach’s selection was atrocious.

Didn’t play 4 long enough to determine anything. 5 was a fever dream and I’m happy to be awake.

Tired of half done games being pushed to release.

We don’t talk about halo 4 forge. Whaaaaaaat halo 4 had FORGE!? Pfffffffftttttt

Nah bro you’ve been Mandela effect’d. Ya crazy lol.

I enjoy forge maps but they need to have better skins for blocks and at higher rez

Most everything works that way now. Video hosting sites rely on users posting their videos and who makes the money … Facebook, come on in everyone, bring your friends and stay a while, while you are here of course we own you. Facebook is like a p*mp, advertisers are like the Johns … you know what that makes us? News media also rely on people doing stupid, crazy, and hopefully horrific things … step on up for the sensationalism tour. It’s the way it works, exploitation, right in front of our face. Wanna be famous? Can you pick the word that got bleeped, so I changed it. Insanely Crazy.

Right. It’s not a bad thing at all. Sure dev-made maps look nicer and have more dynamic elements, but forge has gotten so strong now that player should be able to make something of similar quality. Also forgers, in my humble opinion, have consistently made better maps any ways.
