343 update lacking

I don’t know about many of you, but after almost 3 months of no updates i would have expected something a little bigger then this.
We knew they knew about big team and where fixing it, good to have confirmation on that,
Cheaters not being properly addressed until February?? Thats a little worry some, but then the info stops, no word on desync, aiming, collision, cross core, store prices, menu ui, weapon spawns or anything else the community has been collectively losing its mind over for the last 2 months.
Will there be a larger post coming with the roadmap? Will it address all of our concerns? What exactly does “managing our expectations” mean?
Just beginning to get real sick of the corpo speak and the “coming soon”s, this entire update post felt like it came straight from marketing and wasnt meant to really address anything besides letting us know that finally a roadmap is being made (ETA Is whenever 343 makes enough money off MTX)
This game isnt going to have any new substantial content until may, i dont believe 343 can keep up with whats expected of a live service game and now its really starting to show

I understand and agree with what you’re saying, but at the same time I understand and appreciate the update. When they actually do release the roadmap I’m sure most of your questions will be answered and until then that’s all that can really be said.

That said I do think the bottom line is this game launched broken and had serious development issues and will continue to do so for a very long time. They are trying to fix some of that but tbh the state it has been in for the last month has pretty much doomed it to having to deal with a pretty low playerbase for a good while. It’s possible they’ll pull a recovery but unlikely. It’s a massive faux pas tbh and I hope someone somewhere very high up is really taking a good look at the decisions that lead to the troubles this game’s development has faced. Seems like an incredibly expensive product for it to be so riddled with issues.

I feel you man. Also I tend to not believe anything a company says until action proves them right. Talking doesn’t cost very much.

If you expect everything to just be a snap of the fingers to complete then you’ll always be disappointed. Cheaters for instance will always be a forever going thing, because as soon as something is done, they’re change their tactics and create a new problem. You also have to be careful with what you do so you don’t hit people that aren’t cheating as well.

Companies probably do have everyones concerns on a list, but they can only tackle just so many things at once. More so since they just came off a vacation. They weren’t at work working behind the scenes while enjoying the winter vacation.

Companies also generally don’t say something until they’re absolutely sure it’s good enough to make happen. This way they limit what false promises are made. If they announce it too early, then something sets it back or keeps it from happening, it won’t let people down later.

If you keep going on like this, you may as well never be happy again. Because you’ll never be satisfied no matter how much they end up doing or accomplishing.

I’m just happy they’re back and they’re making progress into improving the game. Then I keep the rest as hoping they’ll get things done in at least a timely manor that works going forward.

Don’t want them to rush things either and turn out a -Yoink!- updated in the process. That will just lead to more complaints on these forums.

You mean almost 2 months right?

While I agree, cheaters in Halo 2 original Matchmaking made the game nearly unplayable, and I don’t think it ever got fixed back then. It’s a complex issue. And, automation as it affects gaming will only get more difficult to detect as time goes on, cause robotic interactions can be layered on the game where it looks like a human - or at least that’s where we are headed. So then, we are only left with judgement of whether a reported player is indeed using robotic controls to play.

3 months of no updates? Dude the game’s barely been out officially for 1 lol.

That said, it’s not unexpected. Pretty much they are working on BTB, server stability, and anti-cheat, fixing what’s broken first before moving on.
