…and how awesome would it have been?! I think amazing!

I would bet the market would have loved the old school feel and it would have brought tons of people in.

Hell, if they had done the Halo 2 model where they launched with a ton of maps and then made you pay for seven more every six months I am confident people would have jumped on that. It would have a novelty feel today.

But, 343 is led by people who have no clue what the customer wants nor what they want.

Maybe its like 20k players left of 20 million, that would be 1% stil playing.
10% of 20 million would be 2 million users and that would have been awsome.
A good number would be around 200.000k users, than the game would still be in a healthy condition.

And I doubt that are even 20k players left, its rather like 10k at max.
10k on Xbox, we dont even have any stats here
5-10k on PC

The game had a huge chance but 343 blew it up.
If it was a Live service game with Forge maps releasing than I think it could have had a chance.
But now I think its too late.

On steam its barely 3-5k per day.

Game is one of the most dead games on the market right now, and if it wasn’t for the fact it is owned my Microsoft the servers would’ve been pulled already.

Im not entirly sure what you mean. Ive been a halo fan since 2005. CE was my firat real experience with a good game and the rest were fantastic in my opinion. I will grant you that halo 4 and 5 were not as good, but I would argue that halo infinite is the best one right now because it bridges the gap between old and new. Just look at how they brought the old designs back! That should be proof enough that 343 cates about their older fams too. Of course they are going to reach put to a younger and newer fan base. They have to compete with activision and other big name companies for business. Thats a necessary evil. They know us older fans wont give up on them. Maybe theyre taking advantage of that, but Im not seeing how they are atm. I will admit I am pretty ignorant of the current climate of Halo and how the majority feels, but when I read this post I knew I had to say something. Halo is incredible. It alsways has been. Halo Infinite is as incredible as any other game. It is emersive and fun. It is modern, meaning its not the same. It is epic, meaning it is the same. I respect your opinion. I hope you can appreciate mine too.

Halo Infinite functions now there is no doubt. The campaign was a lot of fun with very little story.

The problem is Bonnie Ross and 343 put out a game that was heavily broken at launch. It had five maps total for multiplayer. It had a handful of weapons. That is not acceptable in 2021.

On top of that, they gaslighted the community saying nothing is wrong everything is fine this is normal.

Because of the brokenness of the game, it chased away 90% of the players. It took them six months to fix things that should have been done prior to launch.

The most major issues (desync) 343 refuses to fix. They announced they are not going to fix it due to those that have the skills are working on something else. What type of leadership does that? When your community BEGS you to fix their game so that they can play it the company says, “No”. The brass should have been fired right there and then on that!

This is the problem. Some of the worst leadership in the business I have ever seen.

Halo Infinite is the pinnacle of over-promise and absolutely under-deliver.

I’ve been around here since CE and don’t really feel they turned their back on me. I was always in it for the campaign mainly anyway and I really like Infinite campaign. Just been patiently waiting for co-op and hopefully for some DLC.

The campaign for what it was was great. I really enjoyed it. I think the story points of killing Cortana in part 4, then bringing her back to just kill her again was poor writing.

With that said, it was miles better than part 5’s campaign.

Hopefully 343 can get their -Yoink!- together for the multiplayer, because as of today there is barely 2000 people playing on steam. You have 15,000+ playing Farming Simulator 2021 but 2,000 on Halo. :frowning:

I’m savoring it. I didn’t like Halo 5 campaign but this is great and I have only just come back to after playing some other games. Still got heroic and legendary to clear and co-op should be out by then,

It is really sad what happened to Halo multiplayer. I haven’t been able to get into it since Halo 3 when it had a massive population and skill based matchmaking was working really well.

Exactly. At the start we had 700k at least. Halo fans were there.

343i is delusional in believing they can create a new fan base. the only ones staying are some super fans, og super fans, and the ones who want to collect event/ weeklies etc because of FOMO while half dredding in hopes one day infinite will be worth playing while having a good set of cosmetics to wear and edit their char
