Why does it seem like we’re inching more and more toward a Lego batman game the more we play halo lol? The graphics and maps now all seem like they were made for the eyes of 8 year old kids around the nation, and to mention they are GARBAGE, halo doesn’t have its same grit, I’m just getting sick of playing this game. MCC is my only safe haven and only like 100 people still play it. 343 needs to make a change fast because as you can see by the popularity of halo now in contrast to Halo 3, it’s absolute trash.
Not that I don’t agree with you but this is definitely been posted at least a hundred times…so therefore you will get lots of comments about halo 5 sucking as well as people that enjoy the game and telling everyone to quit -Yoinking!- about the game. Basically, you will create a long thread of comments that will not constructively go anywhere lol.
That’s the issue, people need to stop comparing halo to ten years ago, so much has changed, the developer has changed, the goal and view of halo has changed, even us gamers have changed. Halo should always strive to be as good as it can be, but I think people are setting themselves up for disappointment if you’re wanting halo to be just as big as h3, it just can’t happen right now. All good things eventually come to an end.
As as for my opinion on where halo is: I think it’s a great game for what it is today. It’s a niche, it just can’t be the top dog anymore and same can be said of the current top games slowly in decline with new genres taking over. 343 just needs to focus on what they have rather than trying to open the brand up to more people.
I think people should keep making post like this so 343 gets the point. You never saw Bungie forums with so much negativity and that’s because they stay’d true to their fan base and kept the game skill based and not noob friendly

I only agree to that to an extent. All I ever played in h3 (my favorite) was social slayer and BTB. I didn’t want the pressure of a rank or anything and I’m an average player in the sense that I would get curb stomped in ranked play and do great a few games and then a few bad in social which satisfied me. If you solely focus on the skill and competitive side the whole time you’ll lose people like me. Not that it would be the end all be all, but I think there’s just as many halo players like me as there are competitive players (not gonna call them tryhards cuz that word just drives me nuts these days). I do agree though that the atmosphere of the game and gameplay has changed with 343 at the helm. I wont’ complain about it because I’ve realized I’m getting older and with my change the game has changed focuses as well so it just needs to be accepted.

Halo 5 isn’t gritty enough for me either. I liked halo before it was so mainstream like CoD. I still play retro halo, but no one else does because they’re not as hip as me. tips fedora
I can’t explain to you how much I cringed as I read your post and typed my paraphrase of it. Haha

Comparing this Halo to past ones isnt a flawed idea of many as yours though. If you recall Halo 3 being the prime, the most played Halo with 1.1 million players online after its 1 year release. Yes things have changed and I understand that but “that” past part that you hate people comparing it to is saying something and with 343 taking over it just shows that their ideas, their direction to take Halo is for the worst.
Halo 5 HAD that potential but 343 screwed it up so hard that even more people left the series. You clearly assume that the older playstyle of Halo would NEVER work with today standards because it is slower, you can get around like you can in modern shooters and you see THATS what made Halo different from other shooters because it WASNT modern with all this crap like Sprint, Clamber, Thrusters, Slide and Ground Pound. You say it cant happen but you clearly dont know that because you are scared it will flop or that it will be too slow. 343 has tried to open up to more people and sadly it has backfired. They have already run out of ideas so why not try to go back and innovate properly.

I could give a rats -Yoink- if halo played like it did ten years ago lol, I still loved them regardless if it felt like it played slower, I don’t play halo based on its movements, story, display, ect ect, I play it based on its arena play which even the newer ones have. I am assuming older halo wouldn’t work today simply because how many games play like halo did then compared to today? I think DOOM will be the test to see if an original truly can out perform in today’s industry but dooms hype so far hasn’t exceeded what CoD or even halo can today. I’m not scared where halo goes, I’ve been quoted saying if halo ends, it ends, oh well, don’t care how or why it ended because I’m not having high expectations with it to begin with.
also, I’m still waiting on bungie to officially release h3 having this 1 million players, cuz all I’ve seen is one picture from some random dude lol, surly if h3s pop hit it bungie would’ve mentions it at some point, or maybe they don’t care to talk about population like 343, which I’ve argued many times, population doesn’t always need to determine a games success.

I feel like at this point they just hype up all these things to be almost nothing and we wait and wait and wait and before we know it we are 5 months later we are all fooled and still here expecting more from a game that lets face it… this is not the same company nor game, honestly change the name please and it would then atleast make me somewhat able to want to pick up a controller again maybe,
