boosting and selling does even exist in reach,i have no time machine 343 but i know a lot of people will play halo 4 for 3 months cause reachs progression system didnt work
1-50 kept me playing halo 2 for 3 years and halo 3 for 3 years and it definitely should return even if its only damn invisible,or at least dont let it affect the rank,so boosting will stop
It could take Someone months (if not years) to hit 50, and once they hit it they would feel like they’ve really achieved something. But at the same time someone who boosts would get there in one quarter of the time and it would be meaningless. Then it comes down to everybody accusing each other of boosting to get there while the people who felt achieved would no longer feel that way because they are assumed to have cheated.
when it came to matching people of your skill level the people who boosted would still be matched with those who got a high skill legitimately which would then mean the 1-50 no longer works as it should. Although those who would lose big time due to the gap in skill level will drop down a few levels, it doesn’t stop them from boosting again to get back on top.
I think they already have their own legit reasons as to why the Halo 3 ranking system wont be returning. Besides, too many boosters and such are annoying, especially the De-Rankers.
Ps: 2 De-rankers on a team slayer once tried to fail on me and another elite player, but we still kicked -Yoink- anyways in the end.
Iron boosting occurs in Arena and alt accounts are still made.
Arena solved nothing though 1-50 has had it’s fair share of problems as well.
Solution: New ranking system that smokes both of these systems. Going to be hard to do with all the hate ranking systems get around waypoint.
I know you guys want all social but 1-50 was so halo 3, let that hate go. I can understand some of you being sore about the elitism but that’s always going to exist even without a ranking system.
A nice balance of ranked and social is what we need. Not an imbalance one over the other.
343i are the ones with full access to all the stats. You can assume that there are no boosters or something, but 343i is the only one who can tell for sure. If they say there is a problem, there most likely is a problem.
And he was talking about 3… where did Reach come up?
And how would Reach’s progression system make people not play Halo 4? If you want to talk about Reach, there is the Reach forum. We still don’t really know what Halo 4’s ranking/progression system will really work.
It’s like everybody has been brainwashed against 1-50. 1-50 was a great system regardless of boosting! If the 1-50 system is considered to be bad then the Reach system is even worse.

Have you maybe considered that there are possibilities that 343 may have made a better ranking system then both arena and 1-50.

it’s really just the people who are below average players, I really don’t want to come off as an a-hole but it’s true.
they have this notion that just because they aren’t good at it, it shouldn’t exist at all. When in reality there would still be unranked playlists to enjoy. Many of which are more populated than rank playlists in the first place.
players who want 1-50 would like to have both ranked and unranked playlists to satisfy both player bases, where as people against 1-50 only want their needs satisfied.
Then they want to turn around and call the other group “needy” and “unreasonable”.

it’s not just about the system. When Halo 4 hits shelves and old Halo 3 players look at Halo 4 and compare it to Halo 3 and see that there aren’t many similarities between the two games - they will be less likely to buy it. Lets face it, people want another Halo 3. Changing the game too much from Halo 3 will upset consumers and they will compare it to reach (which in most cases is not good).

1-50 was an awful system of displaying progression/skill, boosted to all hell and totally irrelevant. I thank the gods its (probably) not coming back. Trueskill should ALWAYS be hidden in the background, quietly doing its job, not a source of endless grief and envy.
Its not coming back in anything like its old form, better start dealing with it.

LMAO and if you think reach’s trueskill did its job you are insane. Was unable to match people based off their skill.
