343 Tested Us, and We Failed

Everyone’s crying about “y bloomz back?”, but don’t you see? 343 gave us a chance, the tested us, and we failed. A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away… 343 released a zero bloom playlist. It was popular at first, but alas, nowadays the playlist has 300 people playing it at best. The other 40,000 players or so are playing in other playlists. And even when a zero bloom gametype appears in Team Slayer, no one votes for it!

343 can track those types of things, too. Just think, if the tables were turned, and the zero bloom playlist had tens of thousands of players playing it, do you really think Halo 4 would have bloom? No. 343 used that playlist as an experiment, and we failed the test.

The 40,000 is the minority of the 600,000+ halo fans that don’t play Reach exclusively because of bloom…

> The 40,000 is the minority of the 600,000+ halo fans that don’t play Reach exclusively because of bloom…

Bam

No op, you have failed to tell us sooner.

Bloom’s back? I don’t mean to be blunt, but screw that. Obviously I’m still buying the game, but come on…really? Bloom? The most complained about thing after armor lock?

I fail to see how these spartans who are the best of the best don’t know how to hold their damn guns still. shouldn’t their superhuman strength counter the force put off by the weapon if you wanted to be canonical about it? BLOOM!?

> The 40,000 is the minority of the 600,000+ halo fans that don’t play Reach exclusively because of bloom…

Believe him.

He personally went and polled all 600 000+ people whose opinions he uses to argue with.

You mean the return of jetpacks doesn’t piss you off? I mean if you hate bloom…

But yes, so far the bloom is on the DMR and the Halo 4 Magnum.

And 343 can’t put a zero-bloom playlist in Halo 4 why…?
That many people is still a fairly large chunk of players. I’m sure 343 will come up with something to accommodate those players come the release.

I wouldn’t say it’s exclusively because of bloom, but you do bring up an excellent point.

OT: I’d go out on a limb and say the ZB playlist in Reach has little to nothing to do with bloom in Halo 4. It’s an interesting theory, though. If I had to guess, I’d say the Halo 4 DMR/Pistol incorporates bloom as a balancing mechanic to the BR’s recoil.

I’ve been told it’s not ACTUALLY bloom. It’s a visual representation of when you can shoot your next shot, much like the sniper. You can’t actually shoot UNTIL the bloom has been reset. I don’t think they should have used this term anyways, it should be something like “Reticule resetting” or something like that.

40,000? What game are you playing? I was just on and there was 75,000+. On a Monday night/Tuesday Morning. Besides, Reach tells you the amount of players per hour, not per day.

I remember when Bungie.net showed how many players were on per day. You wanna know what that number usually was? 500,000+. A lot more than the 40,000, and certainly not the minority, don’t cha think?

Honestly, I cannot believe I was the first one to point that out.

If they implemented ZB into “team slayer” it still would have been the most played playlist, it’s because your average player doesn’t leave this playlist. Let alone know or care what bloom is. Bloom hurts everyone, whether they know it or not.

BUT, it has to have bloom if the br is to stand a chance.

you do realize that people play team slayer because its team slayer. if they put zero bloom in team slayer naturally and had the option to vote for “full bloom team slayer” that team slayer without bloom would win most of the time because its called team slayer.

That’s not true at all… There’s so many ways to balance a gun by not making it completely random.

Fire rate, Damage, Range, and Recoil or a some very easy ways to make a gun balanced. You don’t HAVE to make a gun have bloom… It just makes the game about luck. Who knows if that shot you’re about to shoot while spamming the trigger will hit or miss? Unfair and random, and not NEEDED to make the BR have a chance.

Besides, in what world does the BR need to be able to compete with something. I think something’s wrong here guys.

If this is the case, then that’ll be awesome. However, I’d like to see a source behind that statement.

Well yeah, obviously there are better solutions. Just saying, if bloom were removed without any other negative modifications it would stomp the BR even harder than it already is. Sorry for my poor wording, I’m beyond tired.

The haters always ignore the facts. Halo reach is in the top 5 after being out for OVER A YEAR AND A HALF. And its branded a “Failure game” by the people that dont like it lol.

Sorry to burst their bubble but a game with half a million people on every 24 hours isnt a fail game.

But oh well. Its going to suck for them when they cant enjoy halo 4. The only ones at the end that are suffering are the haters. we can enjoy reach till halo 4 comes out then enjoy halo 4 even more while they keep hating.

Halo 3 held number 1 for over 2 years snicker truth hurts. And the population factors have been beaten to death, halo reachs population was higher in the first couple of months, but halo 3 held its population and had a larger amount of players than reach after something like 3 months into the game. (not to mention a few million more copies sold as an older game with less xbox’s and gamers in general cough cough)

The only ones suffering from bloom are the more talented. Less talented have a slightly higher chance of killing a more skilled player because of the randomness introduced. You spam and you could beat someone with 10x better shot. Normally you wouldn’t beat him. So i can see why you may be all for this sort of thing.

He did I saw the poll and the results…
