Don’t make players buy maps. It’s just going to fracture the community.
Sell other things, like a new SP story, new weapons, new armor, etc, etc.

Ugh, no. It’ll be stupid to be killed by a weapon that you can’t pick up because you haven’t bought it yet.
People will buy maps if the game is worth it. Nobody had Noble or Defiant because the maps were awful and so was the game at that point.
Not weapons… Just sell campaign DLC with maybe armor customization and things like that. Multiplayer maps would be free with booster packs. It would make all the sense in the world. I hate that I can never play new maps because of peoples stance on DLC. I’m not blaming the consumer what so ever. It’s just not fair to have a portion of the community buy things that they can barely ever play.
Or make it free after a certain amount of time like they had done in the past…that would be nice…
I don’t want to be forced to pay for pointless armor, its bad enough that I have to grind for credits in Reach.
I’ll stick to multiplayer dlc since campaign should be all in 1 disc.
Um, they sell maps for the money it cost to make them and others…
Maps take time to develop and it’s content that’s being placed in addition to the game rather than content to fix existing portions of the game.
That’s why it makes sense for you to have to pay for it.

You aren’t “forced”…
I also don’t think you’re getting the point of this post…

I know.
But the problem of making people pay for it is going to be the problems Reach has right now.
Map packs weren’t required to play, and so nobody bought them. And since nobody bought them, my $20 buying those maps could have been better spent wiping my bum since they never show up outside of the tiny, population wise, gametypes that have nothing but those maps. Making people buy the maps to continue to play the majority of the game isn’t any better since it’s basically a subscription service on top of a subscription service.
And yes, I read you saying that the maps were bad, but I’ve heard nothing otherwise, if anything people praise the map packs for having the best maps in Reach.

Wrong I am forced because if I want big team or other games types I get pushed into some random terrible looking forge map, if I quit theres a penalty.
How is that not being forced? Oh I get the point but I’m stating If there are less dlc maps then theres more likely that terrible forge maps would be shown more.
I have no problem paying for DLC. As long as they stay as 800 MP and not the increasingly common (and overpriced) 1200 amount I am happy. Plus I don’t think having to buy DLC is a problem in terms of the community being divided, but they just need to implement the maps better into playlists and such. Reach is ridiculous- The fact that I rarely get to play DLC maps that aren’t BTB ones is really quite frustrating.
Basically, I agree quite strongly with this.

In GOW3 the first map pack was free but you didn’t get the weapon skins, horde items or achievements associated with the maps. I think Halo could also pull something similar off. People would still buy armor pieces, achievements and possibly spec op missions and the multiplayer maps would be free. It’s a win win for everyone as 343 would still be making money and all the players would have all the maps. Maps not being free really screws the people that buy the maps and actually want to play them.
I just want the maps to be available for everyone in matchmaking. Even if the maps weren’t playable in customs unless you purchased them it would make sense… People would buy the maps for the achievements and the ability to play with them in customs and forge on them. And the people that didn’t buy the maps wouldn’t be screwing the people that actually spent money on the maps.
Also Free map DLC would probbaly be enough incentive to get more people playing.

Know how you feeling since I want go into a playlist have random games like the dlc like one minute having headlong then maybe in some defiant map packs but instead all I get is mostly crappy forge maps.

Where are you even going with this? You’re trolling right? You said… “I don’t want to be forced to pay for pointless armor”. How does that have anything to do with maps? The maps would be free. It would be an option to purchase armor… Theirfor you would not be forced to do anything…
No. All DLC should be free.
It’s business, and an age old tradition to buy dlc. “Why stop now,” is what they’d ask.

Dude is that your response to anyone having a different opinion?
Try reading before posting since adding armor, etc… counts to the amount of dlc limit each came can have. 2ndly if you bother to play Reach you would know going in most games in matchmaking takes you to Forge maps even when all dlc is purchased.
Next time learn to read before attempting to try to provoke a response.
Also all armor should be included in the game, should not be milked because rather Halo didn’t turn into something like Treyarch where everything is overpriced, then turn halo waypoint into something overpriced elite crap.
DLC will probably cost 800 MSP (Or whatever new currency system Micro Soft is using)and if you are also refering to Spartan Ops it’s all included.
I see what you’re saying, but it’s easily dismissed once you look at Halo 3.
I wouldn’t mind extra armor packs for reasonable prices.
Lets say 10 sets of armor(which do not alter gameplay) for 400 points? idk, you can say milking it but if the maps are going to be free to allow the community to be together then they must offset it somehow.
