343 Stop the FOMO

Players should not have to save up Spartan Points.
When the exchange drops players should be able to get enough points from the challenges THAT WEEK.

With the update to the weekly rewards (a change I’m glad for) players this week will receive 22 Spartan Points, assuming they do every single Spartan-Points awarding challenge.

The poses alone are 25 Spartan Points.

Edit: This is a problem that YOU created, 343. You have all of the power to fix it.

Seconded. 12 points next week to force people to engage with both PVE and PVP for enough point acquistion. Do we have confirmation yet whether the pose bundles are static like Rhine armour etc or are they also going to rotate each week?

I have the same question. Will they disappear next week?

I have a bunch of points saved up and even I hate this crap. If you didnt have a bunch saved you vary well may have to wait half a year minimum for it to rotate back

Agreed. I’ve been saving up points before the August update because I’d figured that 343 would try to mess things up with making things too expensive in the exchange and not making it easier to earn points. Right now I’ve got 119 points saved up and I’m still not sure if that will be enough to hold me over until the November update without completing additional challenges.

It’s just frustrating that they decided to put everything in the exchange and not make a new “ninth” series. There’s nearly 100 items that dropped with this update. I’m sure they could have stretched it out to 50 tiers, maybe even 100. Yet another leftover consequence of them wanting to monetize spartan points.

They are going to retroactively give everyone SP for every level unlocked, but when that happens, I don’t know for certain.

The next update, scheduled for November.

okay but are you going to use them all

do you actually want all of them

I full agree with this. 343 needs to axe the rotationary schtick and just make all items available all the time.

It doesn’t matter whether we use them or not. What matters is that it shouldn’t be so expensive to buy them. 25 points for only 5 season points. That’s just bonkers. They should each only cost one point.

Only the 5 items in the top row rotate weekly, the poses are in the Featured items section in the second row - these rarely rotate.

As an addendum to my previous post, the total cost for this week’s items is now 35 spartan points. Normally it’s 10. Do with that what you will.

I don’t understand virtual collection I gotta’ be honest.

I agree that they’re definitely overpriced but the counterpoint is you get that pose for like, literally every game. So IDK. It’s okay.

And if you don’t care for poses, you’ll be happy to see that you can get like 24 points per week. Pretty easy to crush season passes now.

Remember when 343i was all like “we don’t do FOMO, you’ll be able to unlock everything when it’s comfortable to you”? Yeah, so do I.

I don’t understand how they can claim to be against FOMO but then vault a bunch of armor, or make it only available during an event?

They’ve boosted the points awarded from this week:

They did? Oh, well, that was quick. Was is just for this week or will this be a permanent update going forward? I don’t really use twitter so I haven’t seen this post.

In addition to the regular weekly Challenge and Exchange update this week, the development team made the following changes:

  • The Exchange menu will now offer more items per week.
  • Spartan Point (SP) rewards for most Weekly PvP and Weekly PvE Challenges have been temporarily increased from 1 SP to 2 SP.
    • This temporary change is being made to accommodate the increase in new unlockable Customization items and may remain in place until further work on the Challenge system is completed. Stay tuned to Halo and HaloSupport on Twitter for the latest news on development updates.
  • Five new Pose bundles have been added to the Exchange’s Featured items.

These changes were made via a backend update and no download is needed. If you’re currently in-game and not seeing these changes, fully close then restart Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Bummer about it being temporary, but thanks for letting me know.

I can appreciate the general increase in points, but it’s quickly becoming apparent how much the exchange sucks. Future fans of H2A will be SOL if they want to unlock some of these armor sets.
