So, the other day when I dug my Halo Reach out, I decided to play it. I did my usual, forging, multiplayer, firefight, and then I came across a map I made in July of last year.It was called “Complex”, and when I started the game, I was surprised.The map was almost a tip for tap lookalike of Complex(the one in Halo 4) The building with the roof, The gravity lift (I call it that) The bases, The building in the south corner, same as north, the center area, side area. The only difference was the building in front of the Energy Sword spawn. Everything else except for the size (my map was made for BTB) and Warthog compatibility. I think my map somehow got to 343 and they remade it. I didn’t watch the leaked footage (just that funny Team Epiphany one on Youtube) so I wouldn’t know. I fixed one thing on it, so the date changed. What I changed was the Shotgun spawn on mine. If someone can shed some light on this, I would appreciate it!

well even if it is similar to it. how copyright works is unless they copied it exactly otherwise copyright wouldn’t cover it. but i highly doubt you would want to sue them. also it would be a facebook thing where since you made in on a Halo game they have the rights to it. JS that’s all
aren’t all the maps made by players property of Microsoft anyway? I think they can pretty much do whatever they want with custom maps.

yup lol thats how it works. facebook does the same thing with pics. if you upload it on facebook they own it by default lol so ya i guess that’s how it works on halo for microsoft and 343i
You couldn’t do anything anyway. If you build something in Forge, you don’t own it. Microsoft/343 does because it’s been built with their property/engine.
You can’t make something with their content then claim it as your own. Same for Machinima. You may have made it but Microsoft has the right to remove it.
I’ll put it in my fileshare, and now after reading everyone’s answers, I guess you all are right. It’s their game, their engine, their rules.

People just hate it for some reasons, such as…
IT’S A BTB/OBJECTIVE MAP, NOT A FREAKIN 4v4 SLAYER/SWAT MAP!
I just hope 343 uses my idea’s for Playable Grunts in MP,a optional first person view for vehicles,the Grunt Overlord, and a Plasma Shotgun.
I wouldn’t want credit for these idea’s.Just the satisfaction that they implemented something i wanted greatly, which alone would make me incredibly happy.
Edit:Almost forgot to mention a game called… Halo:Sarah Palmer.
Funny how Microsoft just happened to steal your map, not on your fileshare, before sending it to Certain Affinity (They did make the maps right, correct me if I am wrong) to make an almost identical remake of the map ready for lauch just over two months later.
Of all the maps you could take credit for. I think this is more of a simple troll attempt. That or the map you happened to make is almost nothing like the original.

Second on that. It wouldn’t be out the the question to make a map and claim that Halo 4 included “parts” of a map you made if you parts look generic enough to be compared to. I don’t think that the actual map “complex” was taken from this guy though, it has too many random structures and “complex” isn’t high on the naming board in terms of creativity.
If we see a giant map of the beachhead assault on Normandy with red spawned “Allies” and Blue Spawned “Axis,” then I’ll say otherwise.
It is removed from 4vs4 slayer and its now BTB…

It’s on my fileshare now, so you can see. I also said in the title 'or I made something similar". You all don’t seem to realize that everyone is commenting about 343 and certain affinity stealing it. I just wanted to let everyone know.
