Hell, I’d rather have a delayed game than a poorly made peice of crap.

The game has already been in production for 3 years, and they still have a year to go. I highly doubt that it’s going to be a poorly made game.

Longer development time =/= good game. Case in point, Duke Nukem Forever.

They should’ve delayed DNF more.

They are planning to make some Halo games.

Though 343i is composed of talented employees (20 ex-Pandmemic (makers of SW:Battlefront) employees? Yeah, good stuff there) who also happen to be Halo fans that want this game to be great just as much as you and I, and therefore know better what we want from these new games. Don’t forget that they are as big of Halo fans as any of us here.

Oh, and Frankie, 'nuff said.

Hopefully we won’t have to wait too much longer.

lets have it in production for 50 years. guaranteed most anticipated game of 2062.

But in this case it gave 343i the chance to set up a completely new team better. To learn from Bungie, and to plan the overal storyarch better. And that last thing is most important. It seems 343i put a lot of time in planning exactly how things are going to turn out, tie and work together in all Halo media. Forerunner Trilogy, Glasslands and the Reclaimer Trilogy (games) all seem to be made in such a way that they tie in together better. While previously, work on books and expanded canon started when the games were already leading, making it very difficult to expand the Universe without causing inconsistenties.

These 3 years (4 when it comes out) have given 343i more than enough time to get the hang of making a Halo game, and to put heart and soul into it.
To take that back to DNF: when Gearbox picked up the mess of years of development they only spend minimal time on it, put no love into it, and didn’t make it up to todays standards. That game was doomed from the beginning

1.) It’s better to know less, so then when you actually experience the game first-hand you have a better experience. An in-game trailer revealing awesome moments during the campaign will make your first time experiencing it less exciting because you already saw said thing in the trailer.

2.) Wait until the VGAs. I’m sure they’ll be showing some sort of trailer then.

There better be some kind of trailer at the VGAs, preferably with a caption at the end saying the beta will hit April or May 2012.

This ^. I would expect 343 to show something of interest at the VGA’s, if were lucky a trailer.
