343i should take the 2 best halo reach community maps and remake them into to the theme of halo 4. This is the process:
343 select 20 of the best maps on bungie.net that function for universal uses. (slayer etc)
They contact the original creators (if they can). This is so they can set up credit to the original creator (0.01% of the grossing goes to the creator).
They select the successful interviews for a -Yoink!- forum vote.
The top 5 are discussed and 343 chose the 2 most functional and workable maps.
These 2 maps are then recreated, recolour and re-textured to fit with halo’4 fiction, refined to fit with halo 4’s gameplay and then finally published with the game.

I think you should lower that number to 10 maps… I don’t think they’d have the time. I like your idea. I also think they should throw in an updated version of Foundry and Sandtrap for ultimate forge… Add loads more items of course.
As much as I’d love to see 343 remake my maps and -Yoink!- them out to what I wanted them to be… I’m unbelievably against this.
343 are game developers and they should be left to develop their game. Bearing in mind the multiplayer ends up being like 99% of your time spent playing the game, you’re going to be on things someone else created which more than likely the creaters won’t have been too knowledgable on gameplay concepts and how to make the gameplay progress into different areas of the map, which would ultimately make you hate the game and 343 themselves.
I don’t particularly like many of the maps that went into matchmaking from the community, and I hate nearly all of Halo Reach’s on disk maps as well. With this concept, it’d be another game I’d hate playing because the maps just don’t support competitive gameplay properly.

You fail at math. .01% = .0001.
.0001*20 = .002 = .2%. Not that I think the concept is good, I just had to correct your fail math.

…No. Personally I can’t think of any more than a couple of community maps that should be left in matchmaking (in either game). Selecting from a list of 20 to bring in a definite two into Halo 4 (at the expense of two original maps which certainly have a lot more potential than the amateur stuff from the outdated games) just doesn’t sound like a worthwhile or even just a supportable idea, especially if that involves paying a percentage for what is legally the property of 343 (read your TOU.)
> No, there are enough Halo 2 maps that need to be remade first.
No there aren’t.
343 need to make their own maps. I hate paying £45.00 for a new game, with old content.
You guys need a little more faith in 343. Halo CEA wasn’t a great debut, but it was a remake of an older game. They did the best they could with the engine they had and it was a good remake. They’re making their own game now so they’re not restricted to certain animations and a certain type of gameplay (although I do hope they’ll revert back to making the game competitive again) which means they need to make their own maps that fit the gameplay.
I hate it when people constantly ask for Halo 2 remakes. Personally, I didn’t even like half of the Halo 2 maps…
