Wouldn’t that be the most fair way for the fans to choose key features we like and not?
Example . “Do you want sprint in the game?” “Yes” “no”.

Someone else said this the other day to me and it feels really apt. If we let the community design the game, it would come out like the car Homer Simpson designed.
I think some things the community should have input and sway on and others it’s good to go against the grain if it fits into the wider puzzle, whether fans like it or not.
I think community feedback is great, up to a point. But no, if you polled all these features you’d end up with a weird, mismatched mess. You can’t design a game by committee, there are too many moving parts that effect that each other. And as much as people would like to think they are, game players are not game designers. They’re great at knowing what they don’t like, and knowing what doesn’t feel good, but often they don’t know what needs to change or be added to make it how they want. Systems they think are simple, often aren’t, and they lack the wider understanding the actual game studio has.

The community are pretty split about some key things so ofc not be able to create the whole game but some parts in the game that the community always fight about.
I think that would not come out good for the game.
