Nice to go off of your opinion, I don’t want Halo 2 to come back, it has had it’s time and the same reason will fall under why it won’t be brought back to Anniversary not having full Multiplayer, it would split the population away from the main Halo game which is Reach, which is something 343i is not intent in doing.

Reach will be a distant memory when H2A comes out at the end of 2014. If Microsoft is worried about splitting games they would not have remade CE, imo. They are only worried about 1 thing…making money. An H2 remake would guarantee to make MS millions and H5 is not guaranteed to do that, though it probably will. If H4 is a success then H5 is guaranteed to make a lot of money, if H4 is a bomb somehow, then H5 won’t be a sure bet.
Either way I think H2 will be remade solely based on the money to be made.
There is no need to bring the servers back. Halo 2 Vista is still active and running, so go buy and play that. I do.

Nothing wrong with being greedy if its gets us Halo too much, its a good way to be able to play old xbox games without being forced to play offline, if anyone’s to blame for that it’s microsoft.
Halo 2 Anniversary is being released in 2014 with new graphics, bonus campaign levels, and the original Halo 2 multiplayer with every single map, also in new graphics. There will be Forge and a Map Editor, updated Custom Games, Firefight with areas from the Campaign, and Theater for Campaign and Multiplayer. The music will be re-orchestrated and a new soundtrack released, including all the music heard in the game, in suite format.
I say this with conviction because I trust that 343i will do the right thing. I know they won’t let me down.

I agree with all that except theater. Also, like path1 says, keep the H2 engine for MP, no piggy back off of any game.

There really isn’t a need for a Halo 2 Anniversary. If they do that, then they’ll need to do 3, then Reach, then CE again…It goes on and on…
Plus, CEA was special. It was made to commemorate 10 years of Halo. H2A wouldn’t really have that special commemorative feel going for it, if it were to be remade. Plus, I would rather not buy remake after remake. CEA was awesome because it was basically a big thank you to the fans, but if they keep on doing it, then it just looks like milking.

No. 343i already proved themselves to Halo fans by releasing Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. Halo 2 had a good long run of 6+ years, it’s time in the spotlight is gone. If you want to play Halo 2 multiplayer that badly, go to a LAN party.
As for the prospect of a Halo 2 Anniversary, I say the more the merrier. Halo: CEA was great and it would be cool to see Halo 2 with updated graphics.
