Yep, agreed. My brain has committed death after reading that.
NFTs only work with a limited amount and it’s just a bad idea. Get this rubbish out of gaming. No one wants it. It just creates FOMOvand trust me, it wouldn’t be me and you getting them but whales and scalpers. Ubisoft are adding these to their games and people hate it. Heck, there was a company going to add it to there game but there was that much backlash they took it out before it’s even released (can’t remember the game, sorry. I think it was Stalker 2.) So no, crypto and NFTs are just a bad idea.
Absolutely not. NFT is a cringe buzzword topic that has no right being put into games. Developers have nothing to gain from them, and neither do players. Go away.
Blockchain is literally a buzzword for “server” and nfts are just a new buzzword for owning something
That’s it, it’s all a lie made up by tech bros and their sterile work bosses to make more money by laundering it
Not kidding on the laundering part or the “it’s just a buzzword for server” look it up
No, they should get rid of the lame battle pass, stop using the shop as bait, and put the game back to how things originally were when it comes to play-to-earn. The problem literally solved.
So your opposed of earning crypto just for playing Halo? you must not see the good in this. You play and gain fractions of crypto. You play good you earn more. This would all be centered around the Halo community this would bring plenty of time and attention to the game.
Some of the people don’t realize gaming is already headed this direction. It already exist as of right now just not mainstream. Im really ahead of my time but yes this will age well.
Not saying you’re wrong, because I barely read a fraction of the original post, but surely you’re messing around. No one could be that full of himself, right?
“Im really ahead of my time”
Just yikes.
Based on everything I have heard about these type of things…no thanks.
I don’t understand Crypto enough to agree or disagree.
No. Absolutely not. Keep this nonsense out of Halo.
Your phone/PC is not what I said used that much power. It’s the innumerable warehouses of dedicated servers that allow us to enjoy the phone/PC/credit cards/websites/video games/cloud services/digital storefronts/gps navigation/social media/etc etc etc that guzzle it down at rates we can’t even fathom. They individually/all use as much if not more than crypto does.
Same can be said for a lot of Steam titles actually.
Some games can choose to incorporate Steam community involvement while others choose to forgo it (Warframe does, Splitgate doesn’t).
I personally don’t know how Warframe works in game, but when I suggest “community market” I mean trading/selling the gear you purchase within the title, similar to how Steam’s trade/market works.
I think every other issue with this game (I.e server desync, store pricing, arbitrary customization limitations) should be addressed before introducing the concept of “earning things you don’t actually own” into the game.
Surely this post is a joke, right? There’s no way you actually believe something like this would benefit the community. Look at the response to Ubisoft’s NFT fiasco. Do you really, really want to see that happen to Halo?
Dont even start with this NFT bsht dude. Go speculate on some other garbage and earn your donuts over there.
None of this is the future it’s more toxic bs to turn a video game in trash.
I think this is overthinking to the nth degree. We’ve reached the point in the gaming industry…or I should say regressed to the point a feature like Co-op is revolutionary and innovative. You know what would be great? Just releasing a set of armor pieces to be unlocked through just playing and winning games…while the “exotic” crap is behind a paywall…that or release a full game.
- Is this satire?
- I’m gonna take this idea SUPER lightly because Ubi already tried it with Quartz and has made an absolute mockery of themselves
- Right-click meme has already set an equally bad precedent for NFT’s
- How does this BENEFIT gaming? This just sounds like a garbage money scheme, I mean seriously, gaming shouldn’t have the words “Cryptocurrency” in it, you want rare armor? Make it tied to Laso, not… whatever this is.
This wouldn’t need to be done with NFTs though. It would probably be better with regular tokens. There isn’t a need for all the armor and what not to be limited in quantity like an NFT necessitates. Now if they wanted special armor as a prize, then that could be an NFT. The fungibility part only creates scarcity, the token is what the cool stuff is tied to. Unless you’re trying to create speculative assets, most assets don’t need to be NFTs. Regular fungible tokens will do.
