The other day I was playing BTB on Long Bow and all of the failings of Halo 4 converged. Snipers were one-shotting players from across the map. Teams with DMRs were taking out players from across the map. The Warthog was so utterly useless that no one offered to be the gunner. Players were getting lucky ordinance drops like the Incineration Cannon and wiping out whole teams. Then I realized I was playing the same way. Crouching, waiting, cross-mapping, no vehicles, and ordinance drop dependence are not a fun way to play Halo.
Complaining about the weapon balance and abuse of Armor Abilities underscores the real problem with Halo 4. The game just isn’t fun anymore.
if your way of making is fun is making it halo 2, no, but yes the camo-snipe abuse annoys me, i can take out DMR users with the light rifle so its fine

It was never fun, the population is a realistic reflection of this. Anyone defending that the population doesn’t correlate with Halo failing is blind.
The game was doomed the day ranks were thrown out. Ive said this for years, we warned 343 but their ignorance and determination to make halo noob friendly towered of us. I’m glad the game failed as hard as it did.
Sweet hidden CSR btw, I love loading the waypoint app between games on my iphone5 with the awful UI. I got a 50 in 27 games, talk about a competitive Halo!
It’s pretty pathetic Halo 2 is more advanced than this modern day gimmick. I remember reading a quote from BS Angel stating “technical limitations” prevented them from adding visible in game ranks. The reality is they underestimated how drastic leaving ranks in their game would be, it was thrown out early on in the thought process and coding.
And you apparently didn’t listen to the podcast where Frankie, Bravo and others were talking about CSR and all. John Rambo
Yesterday I had fun. I played regicide. I joined a game in progress and I managed to win, score 305, second was 300. Autosentry fun, fun with objective when I played with a friend. Not sure if yesterday or two days ago but I played on complex, slayer. My team mates, two of them got killed then left the game, some others joined and left the game. I only had another teammate and them four. I managed to do the best, but we lost. I sent a message to to the enemy top guy and I told him that my team mates quit or something, and then he replied that I stayed until the end and he respects that, so it made me feel nice I guess.
343 did way too many things to Halo that just ruined it. Yea sure Snipers are meant to be used for cross mapping, but when half the weapons (including starting weapons) are used for cross mapping it just gets stupid.
“Fun” is divided by the community, which is why we have competitive and not so competitive playlists. Which is also why we have Campaign and Spartan Ops, Forge and Custom Games.
Fun is only an individual’s biased opinion that creates a community of opinions that is the culmination of what Halo 4 is. Halo 4 by definition is certainly “fun” just not the “fun” you’re looking for.

if you can get more than 8 Wheelmans in a LAAG hog, i WORSHIP you
Halo 4 is something that is not even remotely close to fun for me. The gameplay has changed so drastically from previous iterations it feels like im playing a different series all together.
> Halo is fine the way it is… I like and I never want it to change.
No just no. This is whats wrong. Halo did change, into this. This is not halo as it once was. You are saying you didnt want it too change but it did, your statement is so wrong on so many levels. I dont even know how to go about addressing it without earning myself another ban.
What about the people that played halo for years and years, that suddenly find halo not enjoyable because of the change that occurred. Halo went from an arena style shooter to what ever this monstrosity is.
> Halo is fine the way it is… I like and I never want it to change.
Its not fine dude, its just not. It’s like watching a dear friend lose him or herself as there new foster parents forces them to adopt and change what made you love your friend. Yes he’s still the same person he has the same name and all but the way he acts isn’t what you’ve come to know. Your friend used to be this unique person that almost everyone loved but then he/she was just changed going against everything you’ve known about them to the point that its a completely different person and while that’s not always a bad thing ( i think) its defiantly not a good thing at the moment.
I know this probably dosent completely make sense but that’s how I feel about the situation and you probably would to if you really thought about what we were told and what we got especially after everything the community did and gave so that this would never happen again after Reach.
To put everything into better terms look at battle-block theaters opening sequence and ending Hatty Hattington is basically Halo and 343 is like that hat I guess. Now 343 there not bad but what they did with Halo 4 and there track record so far is not even close to good. Like the hat they have power but like Hatty they don’t really use it or do much with it to help or are just incredibly slow when it comes down to it. I’m just saying while a lot of things in game development take an enormous amount of time and work to implement weapon tuning and feedback should not be one of those things especially after Launch. I mean the sandbox has been screwed up for how many months now ? and this is after the community basically play tested it themselves through mods.
I looked at all my games to see how many of them didn’t have a multiplayer dependent on a custom loadouts.
Out of all of theme you would probably expect Halo 4 to be the first one of not the main one to not have custom loadouts seeing as it was known for that and built the franchise and its legacy off of that KEY component. Halo 4 is no longer different except for the fact that you cant aim down sights.
Its like if they took the family recipe for Coke or KFC and just went in the completely opposite direction from not only was expected but what people wanted or craved.

> I’m not so sure the game could be called noob friendly. In fact I’m not sure who it is friendly too. While teams are so badly mismatched ( yeah, I know, low population etc ) is can’t be considered to favor noobs. I am sure noobs don’t enjoy being matched up against players way above their skill level, and that is often the case.
> The good players have the same acess to power weapons etc, plus they know how to utilise them better. Plus as they complete specializations they wreak even more havoc on the noobs. Csr does not seem to be working as it should. And until that issue is adressed even the noobs will leave the game.
> It is not enjoyable for noobs to be slaughtered, nor is it enjoyable for good players to have the wins made too easy for them, or at least I wouldn’t think so.

I have to agree. See so many people who just jump in the banshee and fly low along the ground trying to splatter people and getting skyjacked.
Just picked up my 2nd perfection flying it today. Once you know how to avoid the laser and snipers it’s easy to wreck havoc with it.
