It’s weird when you say others might not like it when the grapple can accomplish the same type of move already. It’s just odd that the thruster pack doesn’t at least have momentum
I did look it up the infinite thruster can do the thrust slide just not as easy
Plus
Most folks with the grapple shot don’t even know the slide exists abd tend to go for either just using it or juking other players or harpooning to another player very rarely have o seen the grapple slide
I disagree. 343 should have copied Halo instead of anything else.
343 should have just made an Open Wod Predator game. Fully customizable Predators 4 player PVE co op. … Actually no maybe U isoft could have just done that and made a Wildlands esk style one. 343 would have messed it up badly
I don’t know who “They” are but they sound like the voices in your head.
How about that HALO PISTOL? Looks a lot like a COD pistol in Infinite. Works exactly the same as the HALO PISTOL (some might even say the new pistol is even more OP than any other HALO PISTOL) so God only knows why they made it look more like a COD pistol.
There is no way the Infinite pistol is more OP than the CE pistol. Not even close. No weapon in the history of this series has been more versatile and deadly.
Not only does it kill in little over half a second, it has sniping abilities and can easily rival the Sniper at longer than mid-range.
I’d also argue the Halo 5 pistol is better, it also kills faster than Sidekick, with the lack of noticeable bloom issues.
The Sidekick is really tame compared to most pistols in Halo.
You sure? In campaign I can unload the sidekick’s entire clip as fast as I can tap the trigger. The other HALO PISTOLs had recoil and a delay between shots, plus they just looked cool. I love when my Halo games have HALO PISTOLs. Absolutely no reason why they had to rebrand it as the sidekick was more my point, they coulda just balanced a HALO PISTOL.
The CE pistol has a kill time of .60 seconds. The Halo 5 pistol has a kill time of around .80 seconds.
The Infinite Sidekick has a 1.10 second TTK, plus it has atrocious bloom.
Just because you can fire it faster doesn’t mean it has a faster TTK. The individual shot power is relatively low.
Fair. Well it looks like -Yoink!-. Should have made it look like a HALO PISTOL since it was made for a Halo game though.
That I can agree with. I was just addressing your little note about how the Sidekick might be the most OP pistol in the series, which is 100% not true.
Well in SWAT its gonna be the most OP pistol because the rate of fire is so high. I havent played MP but in campaign it definitley feels wayyy more powerful than any other Halo pistol. Dropping grunts like flies with that fire rate.
I don’t think the pistol is even present in “Tactical Slayer” aka SWAT. It’s BR only.
People need to stop reducing FPS gameplay to just “who aims better”. There’s a thousand other factors that go into playing an FPS well. In Halo: map knowledge, power weapon control, team movement, and use of cover are incredibly important. Having to master many different skills is far more rewarding gameplay than just “aim good”. Stop trying to reduce the game down to something less than it is.
But that is because people don’t want it.
Classic Halo movement is awful. Have you tried playing the older games recently? I love them, but the movement is incredibly sluggish and frustrating.
Your opinion only. I love equipment. Halo 3 was one of my favorite multiplayer environments.
Every game is an evolution on gameplay. Not sure what your point is.
This isn’t really an argument against Infinite. The game is new. Yes, it was rushed, due to a myriad of issues and development hell, and yes it has bugs. But I still like it far more than Halo 5.
There’s nothing wrong with comparing it to Halo 5. But you also have to remember the other 15 years of Halo games that also influenced Infinite.
Again, no. Classic movement is awful. Equipment is great.
Sprint is a good mechanic. Trading attack power for a boost of speed is a fair and balanced mechanic and helps people reposition, escape losing fights, and plan their attacks around cover. It’s a tactical decision that adds depth to the gameplay. Thruster packs, on the other hand, were less balanced (no tradeoff for using them), and largely unpopular. I know I didn’t like them for sure.
Haven’t played Halo 5 in a while because I didn’t much like the game. Can you remind me what these settings were? I think Infinite Ranked probably mostly adheres to this already.
The issue was Halo fans didn’t want a game called Halo Combat Evolved…to Evolve.
Even bringing up copying call of duty is an irrelevant way of looking at it.
The word copying is too loaded and manipulative.
Gaming had advancements.
Copying the advancements aren’t a bad thing…the response from the community was.
Sprint was an issue…this is sad.
ADS was an issue…this is sad
Clamber was an issue…this is sad.
Now being able to slide is bad…this is sad.
This isn’t merely copying…these are IMPROVEMENTS
Not copying COD or this game or any game…this is GROWTH. Evolving the game.
This idea that Halo shouldn’t change basically destroyed the franchises heights.
Fans can’t accept it.
It doesn’t matter what you want it matters what gamers want.
Gamers grow old and tap out or sometimes play or play every day…but they still grow old!
Get it?
Life changed.
Gaming changed.
Fans of Halo demanded it never change.
You aren’t getting Apex numbers with these game mechanics for a reason …it feels too dated.
Think about being 15 or around that age.
They don’t want this clunky/slow and INFERIOR game mechanics hindered with delays and penalties just for moving around the map hahahahahaha and neither do some of us now in our 30s.
It doesn’t matter if “ITS HALO” or “THIS ISNT COD” ETC ETC
None of the responses Halo fans give matter.
The gameplay is dated and can’t compete.
Doesn’t make it bad…just old and not going to be as large as the newer games.
Best case was to go MCC and make that their DOTA or CounterStrike for Xbox.
And let 343i make something else.
Sprint, Clamber, and Slide are excellent evolutions on classic movement. They make movement feel more natural, which goes a long way to help mechanical immersion. A Spartan should be able to sprint and climb up to ledges. It just makes sense.
I love the original trilogy games. But going back to them, the movement just feels sluggish. I feel hampered by my Spartan body, not empowered by it.
Precisely!
Aren’t these super soldiers???
But we couldn’t run or climb

Fans just refusing to embrace the lore even!!!
Just insanity.
Destroyed their own favorite game’s potential.
really? there are still people who think any of the Halo games play like COD?
HAVE ANY OF YOU HONESTLY PLAYED A COD GAME BEFORE?!?!
if you have, you would not be making this ridiculous opinion
