So, we all know that so much content has been added into Halo 5. Countless new maps, weapons, vehicles, armors, weapon skins, etc. I’ll admit, they’re actually did a great job on 5’s multiplayer, but MCC deserves just the same treatment as the newer game does. Sure, solo campaign and split screen works fine, and I don’t have much trouble finding match, but a lot of other people do. I’ve had a lot of glitches recently where I’ve had to reset my Xbox multiple times since whenever the game starts, my console loses audio. Completely. Not just in MCC but everything else. I know -Yoink!- is working them 24/7 to constantly make a new game almost every year like Halo Wars 2, and they know MCC is dead and it doesn’t feature micro transactions (oh no), it doesn’t really make financial sense to do much about it. But all I’m asking is for 343 to make just an update on the game for at the very least the playlists we want like CE 4v4, Split BTB, etc. etc. If you go on the forums you can find they’re among the most discussed topics, but I won’t dig into that any farther. Who else agrees this should happen?
I feel MCC is as good as it’s ever going to be. I get the feeling that 343 would love to delete every MCC and forget what blunder it was. They never utter a peep about that game. I will admit it’s been a really long time since I tried playing it. I hated that they took FFA away from it instead of fixing it. Last time I played I had fun in action sack. Tried playing H2A couldn’t get a match then went to H2 found games but mostly noobs on my team and 50s on the other. BTB is a H3 fest unless you are in a party to control the vote for way better HCE or H2/H2A.
I’m ready to say MCC is a lost cause at this point. It’s been two years since its release and we still haven’t seen much improvement. I’d rather they focus on fixing the bugs in Halo 5.

"Multiple people asked some variation of “What’s going on with the Master Chief Collection?”
That’s a great question and something I’ve been working to better understand during my first two weeks at the studio. What I do know is that nobody here has forgotten the launch issues and how it impacted the Halo community. It’s something that everyone in this studio lives through every day.
MCC continues to be played and enjoyed by a lot of people to this day, and while its been greatly improved since release…it’s not perfect. I know some people still experience oddities and inconsistent behaviors that hamper their enjoyment, while others play and enjoy it just fine.
Many of you just want to know what’s going on and if you can expect further patches and updates in the future. While I can’t definitively commit to specific fixes at this exact moment, rest assured that MCC continues to be discussed and researched internally as part of the broader “Halo sustain” plans and priorities, including the potential of playlist refreshes.
The studio as a whole shares my own personal desire to improve transparency with fans, so our community team will continue to help facilitate that dialog and share any and all news, even if it might not be what (or when!) the community ideally wants to hear, as soon as we have something to share."
I think the MCC is still going to receive some kind of updates in the future, but there’ doesn’t appear to be an “exact” timeline for them(the updates).
They should bring the H2A maps to H5
Brings a tear to my eye… oh the epicness that could have been had they just made a H2 Anniversary and left it at that. A total remake where we would have gotten way more remastered maps. Not to mention since it would be ONE game it more likely would have functioned fine at launch.

No. They simply wouldn’t work out in terms of gameplay.

I wished they would’ve released it later if it meant less bugs, better game ports, more H2A maps, and not the cross-game playlist nightmare of matchmaking. I still think they should’ve included all the games it has now though. Even if it was released like a year later, that would’ve been fine with me.

That’s your opinion. I loved the anniversary throwback playlist, the maps played fine. So I don’t see why the H2A maps wouldn’t work.

There’s been absolutely nothing since then apart from a brief similar statement on Reddit. We still don’t know if they’ll actually follow up with what they say, which is probably the case, and doubt we’ll get any further acknowledgement anytime soon.

I would have rather they just released H2A… with Xbox one being backwards compatible there was really no reason to have H3 and H4 included when they could just have ported them over. They clearly bit off more than the could chew when making MCC. A year delay probably wouldn’t have even been enough time for them to have the game working before they released it.

Those were CE map remakes, not H2A ones, and had the CE pistol starts, not to mention it was temporary. What weapon starts were you thinking? Maybe AR and H2 BR?

Maybe H2A, 2 Classic, and CE would work, since 3 and 4 play fine on the 360, not to mention H3 actually works BETTER on the 360, and the Halo 2 servers have been down for quite a while and CE is hardly populated on the PC edition, so it would satisfy classic fans too.

They may have been CE maps but they were “old” maps that played just fine with new mechanics. As for starting weapons I would use AR/pistol starts. H2BRs would be pick ups on the map.
If the classic helmets update is the last content update to H5 I’d like them to do a huge maintenance bug fix patch then work on MCC.
