343 Sell Halo 2 to Valve Corp

Counter strike philosophy applied to remake of H2 would be perfection for competitive console gaming. This thread needs 20,000 favorites and they will do it I guarantee it.

ask Microsoft for it 343 owns nothing

yet Valve isn’t respecting Microsoft these days so it’s impossible

and this is the wrong 4um

But hats.

I think 343 has considered the idea of a Halo 2 Anniversary, but they have said that they “Don’t have enough time”. And besides, it would have to be Microsoft they go through since they own 343.

Hey, does anybody remember some people saying if Perfect Dark was re-released onto Xbox LIVE arcade it would destroy Halo, once and for all?

Halo 2 was probably my least favorite of the series, so I would hate a H2 remake.

One word: No.

Don’t get me wrong, Valve is a great developer, but I don’t think they’d be good for a Halo game. Not even a remake.

Why not? They stay true to their games after time. I don’t see any Jetpacks in the new Counter Strike.

I don’t see proper bunny hopping either. :frowning:

That’s exactly why they wouldn’t be good for Halo, because they stay true to THEIR games.

Like I said, Valve is a great developer, I even picked up CS:GO on XBLA the other day, and I love it. I’ve played both L4D games, and Half Life 2. Liked all of them. But I feel like they’d try to bring some of their games into Halo, and it wouldn’t work at all. I also don’t feel like it wouldn’t visually satisfy me, since valve has a MUCH different style in all of their games (again, not a bad thing, just not good for a Halo remake).

I really like Valve as a developer, but all of the games that they develop are far different from Halo, visually, and gameplay wise (they’re all FPS games, but still play far differently).

Just my 2 cents.

Get out …Just …Just get out and leave and never ever come back.

Well it was my second favourite, after Halo 3, so I’d love a Halo 2 remake. Me and my friends would love one also. It’d be so amazing to have ODST-like graphics in New Mombasa.

To be fair, all the games they develop are far different from each other. Team Fortress 2 plays nothing like Counter Strike that plays nothing like Left 4 Dead that plays nothing like Half Life 2, etc.

True… I never said all of their games play the same though, did I?

They all play differently, but have some of the same mechanics… I’m pretty sure they all have a 100 point health system (not sure about TF2, never played it), and they also all feel similar, as far as walking/running/jumping, etc.

They just don’t fit the criteria if you ask me. They do develop a variety of games that all play pretty differently, but none of them compare to Halo even a tiny bit, so tell me why they’d be a good developer for a Halo game?

I’d suggest just waiting for the game but with people who clearly have a single very particular vision of what Halo is (that seems to forget about the Campaign element completely) I don’t see any reason why I should bother wasting my breath cause it won’t make any difference.

NO WAY!
Valve should focus on FINALLY bringing us half-life 3 or an episode 3 for half life 2.
Then a TF3 and L4D3.
They should focus on bringing us more of their awesome games and not a halo 2 remake.

dude. wrong fourm.

Ask microsoft, not 343, microsoft owns halo.

… I think that you just like Valve.

I have no idea why Valve would help the Halo franchise at all. Their games are nothing like Halo. Valve games are fun, yes, but they’ve been coasting on the Source engine for years now. They wouldn’t know what to do if they were given Halo 2.

It already HAS been remade on the PC. It received a substantial graphics upgrade, especially if played on highest settings, as well as achievements. Not sure what else you can really ask for.

The only thing that could really help the Halo franchise is to bring a few of the multiplayer maps to Halo 4 or 5, which I’m sure they will.

Hate to burst your bubble but that will never happen. If there ever is a Halo 2 remake, you can be darn sure that Microsoft will be behind it. They will never sell the rights to their most profitable gaming franchise; not until hell freezes over at least.

And just a FYI- 20,000 favorites is such an extremely small portion of the user base. You’d need something like 5 million favorites just for them to even think about it.
