Does it scare anyone that 343 came out and offically said, "The build used to run the campaign demo was work-in-progress from several weeks ago with a variety of graphical elements and game systems still being finished and polished.
Weeks? Someone help me out. Is this a bad thing? I hear people saying its a bad sign.

Because everybody damage controlling for them claimed it was months old. Being weeks old backs up their prior article that said it was the “most polished” and “most finished” piece of Infinite. Which is not good.
Keep in mind the logistics of releasing physical media, they have to go “gold”, print discs/boxes/etc, ship to retailers - which is just a way of saying they have less than 4 months left. It’s simply not enough time to really fix anything. The game they showed is the game they are going to ship, minus a few graphical tweaks. None of this bodes well for Halo or 343. Or series X.

It’s a bit of a mess. My recommendation, no matter where you play it (if you play), wait for reviews.

I have a feeling for anyone that buys a physical copy, expect a large update for like textures and what not. That’s usually how it is. Digital, maybe? There times where you download the game and then they make you download an update? Which I dont get, why not just compress it together.

Because few games today release as finished products. Which is odd, since Cyberpunk keeps getting delayed and all its done is generate good will and hype because it shows CDPR is dedicated to getting it right. If a day one patch could fix Infinites “Fallot 76” textures, then so be it. Its better than nothing at this point, although they don’t seem too concerned with first impressions.

My gosh, Cyberpunk has been in development for 8 years since it was technically announced in 2012. Longer than this game has… And they just recently released a 1 hour demo… Which was not bad. However, to the main point, finally confirming that the demo was several weeks ago, my thoughts on the game are be more cautious. Now I’m thinking, I should wait for reviews first. At my point in life, I’m mostly working, and if its not work, I’m spending time outdoors cautiously even if there is a pandemic happening. So it’s really gotta pull me back in.

The fact they can show an hour of footage and still sell people is impressive. Developers decide how much it too much, or too little.
Not showing much could be a sign of trying to hide aspects of the game, good and bad, but showing too much might make some people feel like they have seen everything or reveal bad aspects of it. Currently I am getting Anthem vibes from 343i since it seems like they are embarrassed about Infinite given how rarely they want to talk about it, as opposed to Bungie who managed to slowly drip feed information about Halo 3 and Reach at a satisfying rate for a year or so before release.
Yeah, no kidding?
Of course it was, that is no surprise at all. What else would they show to showcase the Series X? Yes it is a concern, but because I already get Gamepass at an insane discount, I really don’t care and I’ll check it out regardless. I am not hopeful from what I have seen and I think both the X and Infinite should take at least a year before release and seriously commit to killing off the One for it’s release.
Edit: Don’t get me wrong, I think the Game Pass is great, but I think it is a far too ambitious of MS to push it so much with the Pass and the release of the Series X. I think they should take the year to boost the titles and quality of Gamepass, get a decent bundle together for this holiday season, then push Infinite next Holiday season with some serious advancements along with a refined Series X. Phil can say all the beautiful PR BS he wants, but until I see some serious enhancement I’m not buying it. This all reminds me of the One Release where they pushed Kinect on everyone, or Halo 3 when they pushed Zune, and used H3 Zune to sell it, or Spartan Assault to sell the Surface. There is a finesse to using a beloved franchise to sell products and 343/MS has failed at it. Don’t forget that they also used Destiny by saying that all expansions would go free in sept, in order to sell game pass, MS is still trying to milk that Bungie thread even with them being heavily Sony friendly.

There’s some speculation (nothing confirmed) that the reason for the lack of info is due to Xbox. Apparently they want Sony to make a move first and counter back with more Xbox news (which I believe would include Infinite). I don’t think 343i is calling all the shots here.
I’m really worried about this game. I can only hope it will exceed my expectations. I’m a classic halo fan and I prefer classic arena multiplayer. Only one can dream for a ground breaking game.

I mean, the first infinite trailer which was a debut of the slipspace engine was in 2018. Trailer after that was in 2019 Game Awards Show. So I guess they sorta managed to slow drip feed information? I don’t think it will fail too hard like Anthem. That game was really overambitious and they promised waaaay too many things. And they even showed streams of their current progress and took feedback, but even then bioware did not deliver.
Personally, the way I am seeing infinite is like many of the other open world games like Breadth of the Wild. You can explore, hopefully no loading screens when you walk through a door or enter a tunnel. By the way, this has not even been talked about. Hopefully this is the vision that they meant by “explore”. And with rumors circulating that the multiplayer will be separate and free to play, has me worried even more.
This is bad news, but doesn’t exactly condemn the game.
The biggest complaints after the demo were graphics system related. They don’t need to make anymore direction decisions with the game, just chug along and polish their graphics. It won’t have RTX by Black Friday, but maybe they’ll fix the most glaring issues.
The main letdown at this point in time is the lack of flighting. No doubt the game wouldn’t be perfect, no matter how long they had left for development, without community feedback. They’re out of time now… They’ll fix it post-launch, i guess…
I’m expecting a rough launch, but the core game shows promise. Definitely recoverable.

I REALLY hope you are right
I do not really know anything about developing a game, but I keep hearing that there isnt enough time to fix all the problems the trailer had. Any one out there with a background in developing games know if this is true?

No. That is not drip feeding information. That is a drought.
Bungie kept revealing information about Halo 3 and Halo: Reach almost every week for a year or two prior to each of those games release.
Perhaps comparing it to Anthem is not 100% fair, but I cannot shake the familiar feeling I am getting between the two. No Man’s Sky I would definitely describe as overambitious and over-promising. Now that I think about it, I am now reminded of Sea of Thieves, which is still not a good thing.

Not only that, Halo 3 launched with the Xbox 360. And since Halo Infinite is launching with the xbox series x, they really have no excuse. Although, maybe its a different marketing strategy now. I think 343 receive so much bad rep that they can’t do what Bungie did with the marketing. Gotta remember, Sony is their biggest competitor and their PS5 is on an even level of performance with the Xbox Series X, so perhaps they are not trying to reveal too much. Sony is doing the same thing as well. I haven’t seen that many game reveals from them besides the new Spider Man. In light of recent news, I do agree, its not looking good for me as well.

What I don’t understand is… why in the hell are they even pushing Halo: Infinite as a launch title this year for the Xbox Series X, and in doing so, rushing development for a lackluster product? It’s being developed for the Xbox One, so this makes no -Yoinking!- sense. What is the incentive to purchase an Xbox Series X then if it’s not being used to its full potential for the franchise that’s the savior of Xbox gaming?
Oh… that’s right, profits first, and we’ll deal with the negative backlash later. All they’re trying to do is keep up with Sony, not realizing no one is going to buy this -Yoinking!- thing except for hardcore Xbox fanboys. The 360 and PS3 didn’t come out the same year, and both were relatively successful. The Series X doesn’t have to drop yet, I can wait. But like I said, they gotta keep their stock price up.

343 sucks, whats changed? The damage control guys and youtubers who were telling people like me to shut up were always idiots. “It’S MoNtHs Old, TheY cAn FIx iT” You gotta remember when arguing on the forums you are usually going up against people with the mentality of children and actual children. The only way to win here is not to play, literally. I am boycotting this cheap looking, live service, destiny, cod rip off trash.
Anybody defending this game at this point is honestly no fan of Halo as if they were they would understand what a deservice this is to its memory. Youtubers don’t count as people with opinions as they are all bought out attending events and trying to make sure their channel survives the hit this game will deliver them. This game is going to be DOA, trust me. The damage control guys will now change to saying “oH wElL WaiT tiLL iT ReLeaSeS, YoU cAn’T jUdGe It YeT”.
