343 revive in WZ FF would make it a lot more fun

The revive from campaign would make FF a lot more fun and interesting, of all the people working there, why has no one thought this “new addition to Halo”, would be great. This " new addition to Halo" would be a great “new addition to a New type of Firefight.”

I may not play Halo 5, but I agree that the revive mechanic would be a great idea for Fire Fight - it would reinforce the cooperative element of the game mode, and help bypass the long respawn timers I’ve heard about.

I’ve thought reviving should make it’s way into plenty of multiplayer modes. It’s such a great mechanic that just sits in the campaign.

Exactly, and it looks so cool when a spartan is being revived with the whole hologram and wrist pad. Also when a spartan revives and is taking damage, he gains full shield after the revive. this alone would reduce the amount of many many deaths that occur in this punishing FF mode.

I agree. It would also help the Spartans appear to be the super soldiers they’re supposed to be by increasing their survivability.

Two possible problems with Revive is:

  • Trolls, those who won’t revive you or pretend to revive you - Where you are down, no one will come to save you if Warden’s standing near youBut I will say yes to the Revive System in Warzone Firefight!

I agree. This is a coop mode. Reviving ensures teamwork. Gives people a fighting chance in round 5 instead of being stuck on a screen for 30 seconds.

I’d like this.

I completely agree, imagine the last minute of round 5 if you could revive your comrades rather than them being banished to a 30 sec respawn and 30 sec run back.

I definitely agree with this.

A one life gamemode where you can revive teammates is what I was thinking about.

These have never been a problem in Gears of War.

  1. I don’t see how, because some people might troll you, that a feature should be left out entirely. What if you’re playing with a bunch of friends who you know won’t troll you?

Sounds like the same reason they gave for not adding match making in campaign, yet so many other games have these features without a “troll” epidemic.

  1. If someone is to far away to revive, they’re to far away to revive. But at least that choice is up to them instead of being completely absent in the game. In other games with a revive feature, I’ve ran across the map plenty of times to revive someone, probably when I shouldn’t have. But at least it was my choice to try and revive them.

At this point any idea that can help mitigate the damning respawn penalty is a good one. They went out of their way to put that mechanic into this new game… why not push it sideways into multiplayer?

I think it would be a great addition to FF!

Yeah, I wish they’d made firefight revive-based and more about survival than beating the clock.

At this point though I don’t think it would be even possible to implement it without completely rebuilding the game mode.

I was really hoping for something like Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer.

Both 1 and 2 would be solved by a modification of the revive system to account for the perpetuity of a multiplayer match compared to the save-states of campaign: a button to kill yourself. If you know no one will save you (or you don’t want people to try), kill yourself so you can spawn. If you can tell that you’re being trolled, you kill yourself so that they move on (and maybe actually play the game) and you can spawn and join the fray.

As someone that wasn’t totally into the squad setup in Halo 5’s campaign, I’d be down for it appearing in Firefight. It could also be used in PvP scenarios, but the difficulty there is in how that changes scoring. Do you get a point when the spartan goes down, or when the spartan expires? If you get it when the spartan expires, does 343 want the game to involve downing a spartan and camping it to secure the point? If you get the point per down, does 343 want much the same behavior, but with aspirations of letting an enemy rescue the spartan so you can prey on both?

I think PvE would be the simplest implementation, and a good way to combat Firefight’s difficulty spikes and reward team-oriented play.

The revive mechanic is already built into the game. I’m sure that would decrease some production cost and time for them to include it in Firefight update. plus if 343 is trying to dish out a new type of Firefight that’s different from the original. The revive would have been great for that. If I saw Spartans being revived In the war zone firefight trailer, it would have boosted the hype train, and make it more appealing. Plus it will reinforce the idea that revive first debut in Halo 5 from the series.

I can see players being killed when trying to revive others. Making the game more difficult. I dont even like the revival system in the campaign.

do it!
