[343 Response] Halo: Reach Server Issues

Exactly why do server issues make spartans go default in customs?

From a triple-A development company, it’s sad to see they have to take three days to get a six year old game back on it’s feet.

Let’s also take into consideration the fact that Halo 4 was all but abandoned.
The amount of server issues and connection problems with that game has been innumerable since launch.
Also, the MCC? Ugh, I don’t even need to say anything about that one.
And what about all the unfixed bugs and issues in Halo 5 that we’ve had since launch?
It’s pretty ridiculous honestly.

In the mean time I’m gonna play some campaign. Feels weird without my armour though.

Is there anything we can do about it other than complaining to each other? I mean, of course we can vent, but I wonder how to get the attention of the people who can actually do something to fix this issue. An email address? I know there’s a twitter user, but he’s likely more a pr person than anything. It’s been 5 days and it’s super frustrating.

their already trying to fix it and I’m pretty sure direct complaints will just slow them down sure you can blame 343 for this crap but its bungies fault the bug is there in the first place so just be paitent and keep complaining here since complaining here doesn’t do much but it makes you feel like yourr helping…except when you are

We’re practically a one man army. Even in collaboration, they won’t likely fix it any sooner. Use this time to catch up with other achievements or shows! That’s what I’ve been doing.

Yeah, no use in sitting around complaining all day.
Almost considering leaving the house, maybe venturing out into the unknown.

I hope 343 will make the Eternal armor effect available for a limited time to all halo reach players.

343 did reply to this thread so they know it’s an issue. I imagine it will be solved by Tuesday or Wednesday.

I hope so.

I can only remember one, maybe two times this happened with Bungie. It’s like 343 doesn’t even want to fix it. I don’t want to accuse them of malicious intentions, but that’s the only logical answer here. That, or sheer incompetence. They really sank in performance and quality ever since Halo 5 came out. A lot of good programmers must’ve gotten fired when Halo 5 didn’t sell the expected number of copies.

343 made map packs for Reach and gained control of the servers in 2012. They know how the intermechanics work at this point, hopefully.

Halo Reach is what I play about 90% of the time.
Having the servers down is really annoying.
If 343 thinks they can just abandon a game this good,
they will lose me and others forever.

me too. If this isn’t fixed then well I’ll never get that haunted helmet :stuck_out_tongue:

Not only have I noticed the issues mentioned in this thread, I can’t even play my game now. Since 2 days before this post (Friday September 23rd) whenever I launch Halo Reach it will commence the usual Xbox 360 opening cinema, then it goes to a black screen & after about 10 to 15 seconds it takes me back to the home screen even though I’m not pressing the home button or any button for that matter (wtf?) I tried uninstalling the game then reinstalling it & it doesn’t help at all. I don’t know if anyone else is having this problem with Halo Reach but this is extremely frustrating & I would very much appreciate it if someone has a solution to this issue if that is possible.

Gratefully I haven’t had this issue with any other game, only Halo Reach.

I think the big question is when will it be running again?

that seems like a disc problem I has a disc that did that unless you put it in in a specific way if its an inch off it will kick you out so…that’s unrelated to this you could try testing it on another console it could be a problem with your xbox since I had one that did that but your problem is unrelated to this

EDIT:didn’t read the download part it could be your console try the disc unless you have a backup xbox if your playing on the xbox one probably could cause issues

I agree with you

interesting the size of impact a game from 6 years ago still has on the halo community

Halo 3 is over 12,000 players now!!! Halo will never die.

Recorded at 21:29 GMT -3 and with the issue challenges
Halo Reach is over 5,627 players

  • Team Slayer 801 players
  • Living Dead 451 players
  • Big Team Battle 302 player

Spartans never die, but the challenges and cR yes
