Was champ last season and I got placed onyx 1700 after new season ranking. Going up by one each win and going down 10-30 when I lose, any known ways to fix this other than just running without a full team? Getting annoying.
I had this issue for the past couple of seasons, thankfully I’m ranking up normal now. It was extremely frustrating mostly due to the fact that I couldn’t find a fix for it, and no one from 343’s community team bothered to assist me (as expected). Hopefully it sorts out for you, but just a heads up that there may not be a fix.
I have the same problem for the past 4 seasons. It’s super frustrating. It glitches every season at some point and there is no workaround…
I don’t get why no one is trying to fix this problem.
I think it has something to do with csr and MMR getting all messed up.
Thank you for reports. When defeating players at a much lower rank, it is possible to gain a set number of CSR, to ensure that you do not become “rank locked.” We understand however, that this can make ranking up over a long period of matches quite difficult, and the team is actively investigating similar reports in order to determine improvements that can be made.
This answer is ridiculous. I’m playing on champ level. Defeating champs and losing to them - if I win I gain 1 CSR and if I loose I’m dropping 30 points!
Thats not about playing against low tier players - it’s about an error in the ranking system and I’m totally done hearing excuses.
When you watch pros play on stream they are winning matches against golds and get more than 10 points and that’s something I’m not making up. I even made photos of it!
The main thing is who are you winning against and who are you losing against. 1700 is the highest you can rank at after your prelims, and if you’re rank doesn’t match your overall MMR then there will be issues. For example if your MMR is that of a high champion, but your rank is an onyx, then you’ll still only gain a little amount of CSR, and you’ll still lose a fair bit when losing to players with lower overall MMR. Basically the system is having an issue with your account, but the only way to really do anything about it is to reset your MMR and ranks completely.

Sounds legit but there’s gotta be a way to do it without resetting everything - there are multiple people with the same issue and I don’t have the feeling that 343 is addressing this issue. It’s so frustrating if you’re playing and putting so much effort into a game and you get nothing back.
There’s gotta be a solution for it than resetting my account or playing on a new one…
I even stopped playing any competitive playlist this season cause I don’t see a reason to play if I’m not going up as I should
