343,

I’m not telling you how to make your game, but i am here to state some thing you need to consider. I’ve played halo since i first heard about it in h3 and i have been playing it competitively since then as well. I believe that with some of you recent moves with the game you have killed halo. you might end up selling a ton of copies but after the first few weeks you will not have many people playing it. Your going away from everything that is HALO, which i remind you that you said you where going back to the things that were HALO. Halo is the only game i enjoy playing because COD and Battlefield aren’t much of a challenge and those games have hugely flawed systems, that’s why there not extremely competitive games to play. If you want it to be successful then you need to go back to halo’s fundamentals: re spawn times, weapons spawn times, map control, and most importantly halo is a game that requires TEAMWORK and is and was built around that idea. Your trying to hard to be COD or Battlefield, if you wanted to create that you should have just made one of those games as your title, and not drag halo’s reputation down with you.

THIS GAME NEEDS TO SAVE HALO’S REPUTATION. GIVE US TRUE GAMERS WHAT WE WANT IN COMPETITIVE GAMING. THE TRUE HALO IDEAS.

If you wanted this game to completely be a success you should have just taken h2 and h3 and re-engineered the graphics of each one and added you store line to that. The multiplayer is what makes halo a success and what your doing to it will destroy it more than Reach did.

Reach was a huge FAIL and the way I see it Halo 4 is lining up to follow in its footsteps and destroy the game i love in HALO.

You can’t say Halo 4 is going to fail, you haven’t even played the game.

Spartan Ops will be keeping people coming back for a while.

I think this game will do very good. It will help bring in more people.

People have to remember, this is 343 Industries. Not Bungie. Not the original trilogy, the Reclaimer Trilogy. This is a new Halo. Things will logically be different, especially if it is to keep up in today’s gaming market. Keeping the same stuff every game will not help it, it will then be a CoD clone.

I think Halo 4 will help push Halo 4 back to the top.

And we haven’t seen much of the game. We’ve heard things, but seeing them in action is where the conclusions stuff as this should come from. Have some F4ith and wait until we see more of Halo 4, with the new things in action.

well at least this isnt a redundant thread…oh wait.

seriously, look at all the stuff we are getting for competitive. br, hitscan, balanced dmr, non-campaign maps, counter to sprint, sprint standard, no more Armor Lock.

cmon…i am competitive and ill tell you that this game is looking very good so far. sure there are some question marks, but as they are explained it all sounds much better.

The OP has to realize that it’s not good TO HIM. Although I don’t like so many huge changes to Halo, I’m not going to say it fails, because like stated above I haven’t played it.

I’m just gonna make posts of why I don’t think the new additions are good for the game, not that the game sucks.

THINK ABOUT THE CHILDREN

I just edited my post.

This isn’t the right time to come to conclusions, such as that the game will fail. You’re right, we need to wait until we see more, and even play it ourselves.

Yeah, Reach was god awful with its new ideas and such, especially the new Forge mode. I hate being able to put stuff in midair so easily. And don’t even get me started on the new graphics, we should have the same graphics we did in Halo: CE. Now that’s Halo. Keep Halo the same game! We hate change!

You started playing during halo 3 bro. You missed the first two games which started it all Halo CE started everything. Then halo 2 took it world wide and made it amazing. There are still lots of people who like the first one or the second one more than 3. LOTS OF PEOPLE.

And the community is also forgetting MOST people don’t even venture in to the forums. I am a halo veteran and i like the way this game is sounding and looking, But most importantly i know that none of that matters until i actually play it and feel it.

Apparently this boy thinks that a good Halo game is a recycled Halo 2 and Halo 3 with new graphics. My friend, have you ever heard of the word “innovation?” This is coming from a Halo veteran since Combat Evolved. Playing Halo 2 and 3 was a great experience, but it’s not something I’d like to do over and over again for the next ten years. I want my Halo games to do what the first one did, which you by the way sadly missed out on. It’s not the graphics or “the way is plays” that makes people love Halo. It’s this feeling of amazement, mystery and feeling of alienation that makes people love Halo. So far, 343 is on the right path.

Not to be “that” guy but isn’t saying 343 is killing halo 4 when you’ve started with 3 kind of like reading 2 books and stating all modern writers are killing literature.

And btw I’d like to point out that determining what is and isn’t “halo” is totally your opinion

I believe video games have killed you actually. Just because you are a fan of the game doesn’t mean you know what’s best for it, all you know is what you want. People like you seem to think they know what’s best for a video game and they just assume everyone agrees with them.

Here’s a newsflash.

You’re not the professional game developer that has been aside Bungie for all these years. You have no qualifications or experience to say that ‘343 killed Halo.’

Stop making stupid conclusions before you play the game, I really despise Halo fans on this forum.

You are just another stupid fan that is afraid you aren’t going to like Halo. Guess what, no one cares and you should: [Link removed by moderator]

Judging from the 9 sec footage that i saw on Conan. I believe that Halo is going to be better than its ever been. I mean Strafing seems to be damn near perfect, BR is hitscan, and movement speed is like Halo 3s. IMO that is a true Halo experiance.

Battlefield does not have flaws, I have it, and play it. COD is the definition of flawed. Halo is not dead, they have not killed it. In Reach, people wanted change’s, they got em. Deal with change, if you don’t like it leave.

halo was “killed” with odst and reach.

because of the “bloom”, making weapons more innacurate.

halo 4 will be like reach. with its health system, and bloom. not that I didnt mind halo 1’s health system, it at least didnt have bloom.

Idk if its still like this, but I dont like arena because there is no radar. team doubles is what I remember, and then they took away invisibility. I havent played it since then.

no radar makes it more like cod. it takes skill to dodge radar, and you know where each other is at, instead of having the “who sees who first” factor.

health is a bit old, and should of stayed in halo 1. weakened health just means people of similar skill level will lose against their level. health should gradually heal itself like it did in halo 2 and 3, except we can still see the bars.

and the bloom makes it more like cod. halo’s weapons have always been accurate to a point. they should stay that way.

CoD is the definition of flawed? You’re so full of bull -Yoink-. I don’t play CoD but despite being a CoD fan or Halo fan it really pisses me off when people think they know which games are flawed the most. Halo has flaws as well. CoD is not the definition of flawed, it is literally the most popular game on xbox live. Stop.Speaking.Bull.-Yoink-. The definition of flawed is some lowest-rated -Yoink–ridden game on Steam. Just because you like Halo doesn’t mean you should hate on CoD any chance you get. Stupid flame wars.

There is no health in halo 4 it has been said so by frankie already. It will follow the halo 3 style and there will be no health packs.

i have read all of yalls posts and yes i started in h3 but ive played hce and h2 just afterwards, i know the games…nextly im not saying that they have already killed halo i just dont want them to kill halo, it the one game i enjoy playing everynight when i cut the box on, all others just bore me with their easy gameplay…i may not be a developer but there are things that they should stay away from like random drop pods and no respawn times, that makes halo(u kno the game thats based on map control and weapon control, and teamwork)…i do like the idea for the compaign they got going, and maybe this spartan ops thing…i am not a fan of loadouts, no respawn times, and the games noob-friendly mind set its gone too…i cant play any other playlists besides mlg bc the others are not competitive bc they design the game to please the kids who are not very good…its a game based off being COMPETITIVE not noobfriendly…many of you will be mad at me i dont care i look at the game from my point of view and that is to satisfy the competitive community like mlg, egl, agl, ngl, etc… i play bc i want to play kids who are better than me so i can test my skills, playing a game thats noobdfriendly isnt worth playing

i do like that: the br is back, hitscan, master chief and the spartan IV…

Not sure where you’re getting your info from bit halo 4 will not be using bloom bit instead recoil and will feature halo 2-3s regenerating health. Plus in the videos you can see the radar exactly where its supposed to be.

cod is flawed, look at it dying. Shooting at people five feet behind them and still killing them, that totally seems realistic in all cases right? .50 cal sniper round to the chest and only a hit marker? Lounging 10 feet for a knife kill? Also knifing at point blank range and missing? How do you miss someone when all you are doing is swinging a knife? Halo is a sci-fi game, it’s meant to have things that are unrealistic. cod is a military shooter. Have you even noticed that the AK-47 changes firing sounds in every game despite it being almost the exact same gun in every game. One of my friends is a gun fanatic and knows everything about almost any gun. He points out every little mistake that cod does. It is as if they don’t even do any research or have even held a gun before.
