343 is making halo 5 to fast, I mean they already posted a trailer 5 months after halo 4 was released. They need to take they’re time and stop rushing in making halo 5, you need time to add what the people want like A.I’s, flyable pelicans and phantoms, playable elites, and drive able scarabs.
Do You Guys Agree
Just because they wanted to give us a tease, doesn’t mean they are rushing things. Why not give us something along those lines? It was E3.
It should take 3 years+ when they release it, not 2 but It is Microsoft not 343. Who knows they might just succeed.
Who says they’re rushing? Halo 5 will be be done when it’s done. If it only takes 2 and a half years, so be it, as long as it’s complete and good.
Halo 5 has probably been in development well before Halo 4 released (while it was still being developed). I can imagine that parts of Halo 4 and 5 were developed in tandem for a while (story/concepts/etc) before different teams broke off to do different things.
I don’t get this mentality people have that it’s going to be a 2 year dev cycle. Halo 5 development didn’t start the day Halo 4 shipped. 343 had to have known (at least in part) that the next game was going to be shipped on a next gen console. They’ll have been prepping themselves for that, so there’s a good bet you’ll have your 3+ years
ps. The trailer was simple a little CGI teaser for Halo on the next gen console. You can’t do E3 with a console reveal and not have even a little Halo up in there

I think the e3 trailer was a bs attempt to try garner support for a console that had little else going for it and still doesn’t! If the next Halo is like Halo 4 then Halo won’t save the Xbox this time!

You REALLY want to start this argument?

This. Everything about that trailer oozed of microsoft telling them to give them something (anything) Halo 5 related to show with their new console. That’s why the trailer was the same CG from the spartan ops cutscenes and they didn’t have a name for the game. It’s probably nowhere near ready to be shown so they just had the studio they outsource their CG cutscenes for spartan ops to do up a quick, vague teaser that probably won’t even end up being related to the final game.
Actually think about how vague that teaser was. It showed the Chief holding Cortana’s chip-thing and a giant Forerunner construct pops up. That’s it. That’s as vague as they could possibly be. I wouldn’t worry about the trailer. I am, however, worried about the 2 year dev cycle…

Except it’s having a more than 2 year cycle :l

yeah, it’s about 350 employees, but close enough, and plus they’re constantly growing, I’m sure by the time Halo 5 is released it will be about 400 employees working there.

Source? And what I’m referring to is that there has always been 3 years between full Halo games. 2001-2004-2007-2010. Even if its dev cycle will be longer than 2 years it will still be shorter than past Halos.

Correction!! Halo 3 ODST released in 2009…but then that didnt have a multiplayer so yeah. However, it is quality over quantity for me. Look at Reach. Bungie had 3 years with that and they stuffed up hard, so there u go. If they can get this game right, then who cares how long they take.

No. I said 3 years between FULL Halo games. ODST was a Halo 3 expansion that Microsoft decided to milk by marketing it as a standalone game. Bungie specifically said this when it was announced. Every FULL Halo game made in-house had a 3 year dev cycle.

I am a anarchist bring it on! To the NSA agents spying on this post calm down I was just kidding=) Seriously though I don’t mean to start an internet fight I just think Microsoft thinks we are a bunch of fools who would let them do anything to us after that e3!

Just because the next Halo will only be 2 years after the last one, does not automatically mean it will have a shorter dev cycle. Dev cycle != time between releases. As I said above, there is a good chance that the next halo started development around the same time that Halo 4 did. And by development, I am covering a lot of things here - a lot of development can be done without writing even a single lone of code.
> Wasn’t this game rushed?
Yes, and it was terrible on release.
Your point?
Nonetheless, I don’t believe 343I is rushing Halo 5. The game will be finished when it is finished, saying “all games MUST take three years to develop” is arbitrary.
