The Halo 2 Anniversary Multiplayer proves that 343 has the potential to revive Halo. But then after watching the Halo 5 sneak peek they also prove that they can kill Halo as well. One more bad game and halo is done.
But back to H2A. Does anyone else think that the H2A plays great? The graphics, guns sounds, and just overall movement feels good and looks great. If 343 could make Halo 5 multiplayer play like H2A (No sprint, No AAs, etc) then it could be a real turnaround for them.
Anyone else think 343 should just revert back to “Good ole halo” similar to H2A instead of continue with this failed Spirnt, SAs, call of halo style?

If H5G didn’t have sprint, clamber, or power weapon auto callouts then it would have some serious potential

Right. And all of this would actually make 343’s job simpler. Take out all of the extra BS and just go back to simple ole Halo.
Woah woah woah what are “Auto power weapon callouts” is that like a bot that alerts all players when the Power weapons have spwaned? Oh dear God please say I am wrong.

You have the ‘go back’, it’s Halo MCC. You’ve got tons of maps, and revamped Forge to keep making new ones. It’s all there.
The thing is that sprint and other things aren’t credited to COD because many games did that before COD did, it’s just modern game design now. 343i is doing a great job of modernizing Halo while still keeping the halo feel.

By modernzing you must mean killing Halo. Have you looked at Halo 4s popualtion lately?
And when i say Codifying I amk not giving credit to COD it is just the easiest way to point out that 343 is OBVIOUSLY trying to take things from call of Duty and putting them in halo. I mean come on care packages, Perks, Customizable loadouts, camos, slide, clamber, sprint, etc etc etc. If you can’t tell that they are trying to make halo like Call of Duty then you are blind.
It feels nothing like Halo. Other than Master Chief and a few guns nothing is the same

In H5G there is no loadouts, no perks, no packages no ordinances no campuflages, and sprint clamber and slide are only to improve the movement. But I guess you haven’t read all the explanations 343 have given us in the last week.
Ooo look another one of those just give us Halo 2 with prettier graphics threads how orignal. Btw the have just given you the Halo you wanted don’t like Halo 5 after the Beta don’t play it atleast give it a try atleast then you can always come back the Halo: MCC.

No Actually H2A doesn’t play anything like Halo 2. Sure they are on the same maps but everything else is completely different even some of the weapons.
I don’t get whats up with you people everytime someones suggest Halo should stay without sprint and AAs you guys automatically assume that person just wants Hlo 2 or 3 to be rereleased. H2A feels fresh without adding new useless mechanics. We don’t need one hit kill ground pound. We don’t need clamber because we can conintue jumping over and up obstacles like we always have which is something that adds skill to the game. Anyone can press A but not everyone can quickly scale things by jumping.
I am already positive I won’t like Halo 5 after watching the video because Halo with spirnt will NEVER be success. Halo with AAs will NEVER be a success. You would think the last two failure Halo games would give you a hint.
AND i like you act like “Halo 5 Should be molded around H2A” threads are running rampant. This is the first one I have seen and I have been using this site constatly since H2A’s release
I agree Spirnt is a failed mechanic, bring back Sprint.
Anyways, thats the point of MCC. All you nostalgia kids can continue playing that while everyone else plays the next step in Halo. Quit whining you are not playing the same game over and over again just with better graphics.
You all rag on CoD for being the same, and yet you do not want Halo to change. Hypocritical much?
The two Halo games with sprint were both a huge commercial success…
I have been playing Halo since 2001 and honestly, I don’t want another halo game that plays like Halo 2 or 3. They were fantastic and they both hold a special place in my heart but they are the past now. If Halo kept repeating itself with only minor improvements then you would only see the population decline even faster. There are high quality games out all round the year in this day and age, I don’t think Halo could possibly keep the numbers it used too with so many other titles popping up to steal the casual gamer’s eye.
It feels good to jump into some H2A customs and crush my friends with the stalactites on Lockout but I want something fresh. Honestly Halo 5 looks so fresh it could be a new 5 gum ad.

Halo 2/3 is Halo’s gameplay core, you can still play it, it’s still cool (I love Halo ce/2/3, my favourite Halo game is Halo 3) but 343 has to add something new to refresh the gameplay, they are making an awesome work on Halo 5 (except from the hit detection sound XD) and I don’t want you dam*ed “fanboys” to ruin their work. you should at least try out the beta next month. I am a REAL fan of Halo. Halo 5 is a Halo game. that’s it.

You couldn’t be anymore correct! Why do you think Call of Duty has been declining? Ever since MW1, it’s ALL BEEN THE SAME! AW is no different. Besides, the sprint and armor abilities for Halo 5 give it more of a Crysis and Quake feel to it, and I love it!
I think my only concerns are the hit and kill sounds. I really like the direction of the character and weapon sounds. However, I’m very curious to see how the team chatter works.
It’s really hard not to accuse you for wanting re skinned halo 2 when that’s what majority of the posts look like. You guys say you are not against change. You want halo to evolve just like us. Then how to you, should halo evolve?
We’ve got the triangle. Guns, melee, nades.
343 tried adding new guns and grenades. Halo 4 had loadouts. Which is an evolution to games that feature multiple weapons that are not “power weapons.”
That was deemed bad.
How about adding to the triangle? People often referred to equipment as being apart of the triangle. Okay so then we got AA’s. Re useable equipment.
That was deemed bad.
Now we arrive with halo 5. People say that halo is really big on movement in and out of combat. If you can’t strafe then you can’t be good at halo. So halo 5 introduces more movement options. an evolution to the movement in the game. It’s already being deemed bad.
over the past years 343 has been trying to evolve halo and add on to concepts that have been in halo. Every time they get slammed for it. Everyone who slams them either says “make it more like halo 2-3 but with more stuff.” Which is honestly a lazy response. It doesn’t help anyone. Some of you have actually given some ways to add to it. Which is a step up. However those changes don’t add or change much.
So forgive me if we accuse you of wanting the same re skinned things. Because you may not state it directly. But you say it as a whole with these complaints. halo can’t “evolve” the way you guys want past what we have in halo 3. Anything else we add would either be the equivelent of new maps/guns or to put it in your words “change the fundamentals of halo.”
I’m never a fan of telling someone to go back. But with the release of the MCC I think it’s a legit response now. You have every multiplayer besides reach. You have LITERALLY every map made along with forge. You even have halo 2’s ranking system. If you honestly feel halo isn’t evolving and 343 can never make a halo your happy with then stick to the MCC. You have more replay-ability there then your own life span. After all most of us grew up on halo (i’m 21.) You spent half your life with it. You now have the ability to spend the rest of it there.
