There are enough threads which explain (or complain, depending on which camp you fall in) the failures surrounding Halo 5. Enough threads exposing the the lack of SO MUCH CONTENT. The conspiracy theories regarding 343’s deceitful practices (or “free DLC” as some call it)…
What ** I ** feel it all boils down to are TWO things :
– 1) 343/MS want to make MORE $$. What company wouldn’t? In order to accomplish this, they build the game so that ANY ONE who wants to play it has to buy their OWN Xbone and their OWN copy of Halo 5. Then they throw in the REQ system.
– 2) 343 designs Halo 5 WELL BEYOND the hardware capabilities of the Xbone, so…they put everything except the campaign ONLINE. Ya see this is actually a TWOFER right there. One, they can add stuff the Xbone can’t natively handle and TWO, they’re guaranteed to have more Xbox Live Golds sold.

IF they would take a step back, take a more humble approach to the Halo franchise (not focus on fading out so many of Bungies accomplishments to the game) and simply design Halo to work with in the limits of the platform…they would have a much higher majority of content players vs. what we have now, which is a community VERY divided.
Can you do offline system link? Had some ridiculous set ups in collage back with the original xbox, 6 or 7 in one room and it was great. I was sneaky and could see tho others guys screen in a reflection from the wall. If you can’t do this anymore thats tragic.

At my LANs you would have been beaten senseless as this is considered cheating. Hence why the opposing teams screens should be a 180 degrees from your team.

No. 343 claimed for a long time that the Xbox One simply wasn’t capable of offline system link. But then Gears of War Ultimate Edition and the upcoming GoW4 have gone and shown that it is possible.
Halo 5 and MCC do not include any form of offline system link. As far as I’m aware, GoW is the only game for the Xbox One that does.

I know, it was totally cheating. It was actually in a 1v1 match and the person I was playing was miles better than me, I still lost.
