343, Please Turn off FF in BTB

Team killing is becoming an epidemic in BTB. I think it’s frustration of younger players who don’t get to play the game they want to play or get power weapons / vehicles.

FF does nothing for the competitive balance in BTB. It only hurts the experience, and it hurts it bad.

Please turn off friendly fire or make it reflective.

Thank you,

No, leave it.

Stop asking for things to be taken away because of bad players.

We’ve seen things like proxy chat go because players would argue. We’re seeing things like betraying more often because young gamers are being taught to have things their way when they want it. That’s why loadouts became a thing, so players could spawn with the weapon they wanted rather than find one and learn to control the spawns. That’s why REQ and ordnance drops became a thing.

FF does help the balance. It stops players launching rockets and grenades at a whim, or be punished for doing so. It stops players finding ways to break the game, like launching players across the map.

I usually let the bad player betray me 3 times and boot them. And because I play in a group I can arrange to have that player killed a dozen times with no penalty. They need to learn that they can’t have it their way, rather than give in to them and ruin our experience more than they are doing anyway. They need to learn to play the game properly.

I’d much rather see players who get booted regularly, or finish games with a higher than average FF damage be penalised somehow. Either by receiving FF damage as 1.5x reflective damage, or being unable to do damage to unshielded teammates. Anything before we go straight to turning FF off.

FF does little for the competitive balance in BTB. Think about it (hint: not competitive).

Absolutely FF is important in arena / competitive play, I would be crazy to argue that. I totally get it, been around since beginning, and FF is a big part of the game.

Affects on BTB in MCC:

  1. A tiny good
  2. A ton of bad

In a perfect world, yes, it would be on. If it were all players like us ^

Realistically however…
