I love the fact you put out new game types and tweak things. And when I first played halo 5 I was skeptical on alot of the new stuff. But I can’t deny it anymore. 343 needs to realize they had a winner before and stop mucking about with seasons and horrible csr systems and req systems. Those sent what keep players coming back to Halo. If anything it’s pushing them away. Just my thoughts but it’s sad to see a series I have loved change to where I question if I will play the next one.
New gametypes, new weapons, new maps, new armor, improved forge, they’re all a welcome addition. It’s when 343 tries to add these weird gimmicks to the way the game plays that riles the fans up.
I mean, except Breakout, but no one liked Team Elimination in Halo 3 either.
I would just like an invisible CSR system that matches people up with players of their same skill, I don’t even really wanna know how good or bad I am.
req isn’t bad but the season resets are annoying but they serve a purpose. Req does the opposite but keeps people playing since after a while you get a prize in the way of req. it isnt a big thing and only affects 1 mode.
the resets are because they’re trying to correctly gage the different skill tiers. problem is people’s skill isn’t going to change drastically.
Just play arena. if you dont like that halo changes with every title then bye. H5 is a linear evolution from H3. It’s far closer to H1-3 than reach or h4 ever were.

Was Team Elimination like Breakout? One life, objective/slayer oriented? Just asking because I wasn’t around during Halo 3’s peak, and I like those kinds of “competitive” gamemodes.

It was. Used the base maps, and settings, in the game. I only remember playing on Valhalla, come to think of it.

The casual gametypes do this I believe.

Funny, I like Breakout. Its one of my favorite playlists…
I agree with the title of your topic if it applied to H5G’s campaign/story. It’s obvious 343i tried to get way too creative and as a direct result, ended up shooting themselves in the foot
but in my opinion H5’s multiplayer is the best in Franchise history.

Just curious, are you a longtime Halo player? No offence meant. I’m seeing a trend where old players who started with the classics are not a fan of Breakout because it is drastically different from the usual style of play, low health, elimination rounds, and limited weapons. I see a lot of newer players enjoying it who I presume came from more twitchy shooters and and games like CS where elimination is the norm.
I have played all the games yes. And halo and destiny are the only shooters I play. I have kept coming back to halo because it’s always been fun and matchmaking pretty good. But with the way that 343 is headed based on halo 5 I honestly don’t know if I will come back for halo 6. Don’t get me wrong halo 5 is a fine game. But I just don’t like the gimmicks and the poor matchmaking in respect to skill level. I am a casual gamer I play for fun. Getting matched consistently with player way above my skill level isn’t fun. I understood more serious gamers welcome this as a challenge. But I am not a pro gamer and I don’t want to be. I just want to enjoy myself when I play. Which with halo all previous halo titles I did whether I won or lost. Maybe things willbget better. Maybe not. But whether they do will influence whether or not I purchase halo 6.
If I could say one thing to 343, it would be: “if it ain’t broke, don’t break it”
Yeah, why improve on the wheel? We’d be better off with great big stone slabs instead of rubber tires! Yabba Dabba Doo!
invisible CSR
At least visible CSR let’s you see how outmatched you are.

I’ve been playing since Halo CE and i didn’t like breakout initially, but once i started playing on teams with people who had mics, it became 10 fold more fun to play
