Big team battle would work better as separate playlists we’ve all seen the issues with the master chief collection and big team battle is one of the most affected slower playlists with its mixed games.
You could do
Halo Combat Evolved Big Team Battle
Halo 2 Big Team Battle
Halo 2 Anniversary Big Team Battle
Halo 3 Big Team Battle
Halo 4 Big Team Battle
While this is a great idea in theory and I would love it, the community simply is not big enough to support individual BTB playlists. Your wait time would be 20 minutes per game or would honestly never fill up to full 16 player games. It actually struggles right now to fill up to 16. In fact I have only seen 1 16 BTB game since launch. This is just never ever going to happen. Nowhere near a large enough community.
I don’t think that’s true I can get 5-7 games per night. The issues with the game and the servers. Can’t imagine popularity being that low. There should be thousands on at any one time.

Sadly, MCC doesn’t tell us how many peeps are searching in each playlist. Frankly, it probably keeps the egg off their face. If people could see the volumes searching and slowness of playlists it would make things look much worse.
I think they should be split up too. Not because of performance, but because i’d like to have the ability to play big team in the game i want.
If there are not enough players Halo 3/4 should be removed imo, as they can be played on the 360.
No this whole thing about they can be played on 360 isn’t a good argument.
360 isn’t 1080p 60fps
360 doesn’t have many players playing the dlc maps
360 lags a lot more
360 games break up a lot more when players quit and the screen freezes up
Sounds good in theory, but if you split up BTB thenothers will call for other gametypes to be split up too. Before you know it, we have 40 playlists and a highly fragmented community
We already have split playlists for Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4. Those are basically just objective / team slayer.
Those and big team battle are the most popular ones.
Swat / snipers etc can stay as is.

You don’t know that slow matchmaking times are because of low player counts. Only 343 have the numbers as you said. It was hard to find a game at launch and still is now.
I know a lot of people complain and get refunds but a lot of people will surely be persistent too. Also new people will buy the game, not everyone is clever enough to check forums or even know of the bugs till they’ve bought it, even in months to come this will be the case.
Sadly they can’t do this. The community on each playlist would be far too small, and you’d end up having dozens of playlist with all the BTB game types, all the games, and all the variants of maps. It’d be a smorgasbord of playlists, and no one wants to see that. Good in theory, terrible in practice.

Its a numeric fact that TMCC has a very low amount of players and has since launch. This has been the least selling major game out of the last 10 years. Stats don’t lie.

So clearly the community is indeed, very small. The playlists cant be split up too much or they would be way to thin and loading times would take forever.
1.95 million is enough to split the playlist even 750,000 would be enough.

You cant seriously think there are actually 1.95 million or 750,000 people playing. lol!! Many people have traded in the game or no longer play it because of the broken mp.
There are maybe 20,000 - 50,000 people playing. In all different regions, all different times of the day all playing different playlists. Some playing Spartan ops, some playing solo campaign, some playing co-op campaign, some in customs. So again, there simply is not anywhere near enough people playing the mp to split up every playlist. It will NEVER EVER HAPPEN.
Also 750,000 is not half of 1.95 million.
If each of the five proposed big team battle playlists had 1000 people in at any time that would be enough.
If they split the playlists up matchmaking speed would likely improve thus people who had sold the game or stopped playing would buy it again as matchmaking worked better.

Hopefully this is addressed in the new patch. I only want to play halo 4 BTB thanks. Otherwise i’m going to get a lot of quit penalties. 
As much as I’d like to agree, the playerbase is already stretched too thin to actually make this viable.

I agree with you. I personally love Halo 4 BTB! I think it’s the tightest and best multiplayer of the entire series hands down. There are times when that’s all my friends and I want to play. Plenty of us have been asking and millions bought this game so there shouldn’t be an issue.
