343 Please remove Bloom

I really hope that once the transition from Bungie is complete you take the time to come up with a well deserved Title Update to Halo Reach. And the one thing that I ask is for you to please remove bloom. It is in no way shape or form competitive at all, and really slows down the pace of the game. Also, please make the grenades less powerful and make them have a smaller range. They are like mini nukes right now, and are annoying to have to deal with at the moment.

As much as I agree I highly doubt it will happen.

Bloom adds a choice between a random kill time that could be long or short depending on luck, or a consistent kill time that’s sits somewhere in the middle. Just because everyone chose the random one doesn’t mean it removes competitiveness.

On the subject of grenades, that’s what armor lock is for.

Don’t ever say to remove Bloom again. It is an amazing mechanic that can allow pinpoint accuracy at a controlled rate of fire by the user himself. All 343i needs to do is make the reticule reset faster and make it a bit harder to be put into full bloom. Which means the user of the DMR must pace everyshot to get the correct accuracy they want. The pistols bloom must change as well in resetting faster and being a bit tighter. It will make players rely on the pistol as a competitive weapon for close range battles, and the DMR being used correctly will shine in its medium to long range niche. This will also eliminate spamming in every form since it will do nothing for the player if he pushes his out too far.

Bloom can be implemented correctly but at the moment it is making the two competitive weapons of the game, useless and not used to their fullest potential that they can become.

Also, the grenades are nukes, we all know this. Hopefully 343i understands how the nades need to be changed to fit gameplay. Nades must only be used to pop a players shield to pull off the headshot skillfully, not just nade spam and expect your mini nukes to clean up every kill for you and gain new ones. The grenades can be changed to find a perfect balance but at the moment, the blast radius is huge, and damages players greatly.

I would FIX bloom rather than remove it. I can see how making it bloom out and reset faster may improve gameplay. I love the idea of bloom. I am torn with how it was implemented though. I would not want a return to the BR though. I enjoyed it while it was all I had. However, I think bloom has potential to be more fun. So for me a fix is the answer.

it dosent need to be removed, just tweaked to bring in skill so people who pace their shots win

It won’t happen. Now making it better… that’s possible.

First of all i believe Bloom should of never been put on a Precision weapon. I would of enjoyed Bloom on only automatic weapons like the Assault Rifle and Needler. But since it is on Precision weapons it needs to be tweaked kind of like the beta had it.

Precision weapons are only as precise as the shooter.

Bloom cant be removed. Just gonna have to deal with it for now. It really just needs an adjustment to reward pacing instead of spamming.

Actually its good for precision weapons. Bloom takes the place of recoil. All precision type weapons have it so it makes sense.

343i could easily remove the bloom, modders have already done it. Should they? Probably not.

They should either make bloom less noticeable, or just make it extremely noticeable.

Less Noticeable
The reticle doesn’t expand as much, it only really expands if you rapid fire non stop. More of a classic feel.

More Noticeable
The reticle expands more, but resets faster. This creates a thicker line between spamming shots and timing shots. Pretty much does what Bungie was trying to do, creates another “layer” of skill.

Bloom is awsome! Its just it needs tweaked. I get what the problem is what I dont get is why people cry about it, its not that bad. Armor Lock on the other hand…

Just make Bloom more faster for close weapons even the DMR is fine becaouse is a precision weapon

Wait??? Guns have recoil when u shoot them??? I wonder how soon till this forum is just requests like this with AL… 343 don’t remove bloom please, I like it

stop it. Bloom is fine!

I do like this. To add, Evade is also an great alternative to AL. The antithesis if you will.

They removed the visual effects of bloom only. The system still processes each shot within bloom. Its hardwired into the engine.

Please don’t muck up the forums with more of them.

Thank you and good day.

WHAT???

If there was no bloom then Halo would just be about who’s faster at splamming random shots and hoping they hit. Bloom adds the effect of recoil, and seperates the good shooters from great. Pacing the weapon to eliminate bloom takes skill.
