The latest patch that fixed the leaving matchmaking glitch has bugged the servers for people outside of the United States. Myself (Australian) and others outside the US can’t connect to anything other than the first server selected. For Australians if we wanted to find games like we did previously, we had to select East Japan due to the requirement of having at least 2 of the first 5 closest servers selected and then it would allow us to connect to West US. This latest update only allows us to match people on that first server (in this case East Japan) and as a result we can’t find games on West US (which means no games).
The only games I have been able to get are on East Australia in social (when I turned on that server instead of East Japan) which further acknowledges that we can only connect to the first server choice. Please fix this ASAP to how it was before the patch so people outside the US can play again. Another easy solution to this problem (which would also help people find games faster) is to remove the requirement of having to select 2 out of the 5 top servers altogether so this issue won’t come up in the future again.
Submit a support ticket about the issue if you haven’t already. It’s good to say something here, and make sure you make a post about it in the Season 7 feedback forum when 343i opens that back up, but the ticket system is absolutely where you should be sending it to.
I’m getting the same problem here. And this happened already in Halo 5’s launch. I can’t understand how in 2021 this keep happening. It’s an absurd. And I, as a Insider, already said and made a forum topic about it and even with that and all the replies, they launched the Season 7 with the same issue found in the Flight. Now I won’t be able to do 2 of the weekly challenges: the Wheelman, because I can’t find any 8v8 game and the Competitive one that worths 1 point, because it’s impossible to find any match in any competitive playlist. (I’m from South Brazil)

I did the same thing a few years ago too my friend, and that post gathered a lot of attention. Unfortunately 343 only seems to consider one country in the world and their track record when it comes to supporting matchmaking for players in other countries outside the US proves it.
Well I guess that would explain why I’m having problems as well. I’m from NZ, so you and I basically share the same region. Right now I can only find social matches, and the games are low quality (lag and disconnects galore), and competitive matchmaking flat out doesn’t work, which sucks as I need 15 wins in Halo 4 to complete the seasonal challenge! Hope this bull crap is sorted sooner rather then later. I’ll submit a ticket as well, the more people let 343 know about this issue the better!
I was told if anyone else can’t find games and is outside the US to submit a ticket here. Mention it was from the latest hotfix update for season 7. Also mention that the restriction of having to choose 2 out of the 5 closest servers is also limiting the ability for us to get games both now and prior to this update. Link below:
To my Aussie bros tho, I actually found that H4 competitive was quite healthy on the Australian server last night from about about 6PM onwards. I was getting match after match for a good couple of hours and was able to finish the weekly sweat challenge on two different accounts. Hopefully this helps some of you until 343 get this fixed.
Still waiting on an update and nothing……pretty significant issue not allowing the rest of the world to play your game….any other developer would have put out a patch the second this issue arose.

Seems to be all good, I’m in Western Australia and have gotten 2 H4 squad battle matches in last 15mins…
