343, Please read (halo 5 wishlist, realistic)

Alright, I’m going to start off by saying this. I didn’t like halo 4, every aspect of the game disappoints me. I’m not trying to be picky. I’m not trying to find an excuse to complain about something. I played Halo sense I was a kid, grew up with halo ce, and halo 2, as I got older I played the hell out of halo 3, eventually got xbox live, and my god I loved every moment I played on halo 3. Reach comes along, it was great. I didn’t like the campaign all that much, but the multiplayer was damn fine. I was excited for halo 4, until I read about them removing elites from MP because of some canon mp, but 343, listen. Campaign is for story, this is mp, we don’t need a canon mp, ESPECIALLY if its going to cut content that the fanbase loves. Also, when they say the entire MP is all a simulator, it kind of butchers the aspect, like a movie with all this epic stuff happening, and then the character wakes up all like “wow, that was one hell of a dream!” That’s basically halo 4’s mp, if you pay attention to the canon. The campaign was really dull and lacked variety that the others had, while the other halo games had missions like cities, a flood overun covenant place, underwater temples (delta halo, from halo 2?) Beaches, spaceships, huge forest planets, snowy wastelands, and a straight up desert wasteland. Almost every mission in halo 4 was either A. A stainless steel facility, or B. A dull snowy world. Given the acception of the mission Requiem, which was actually beautiful, and the desert one with the mammoth.

I’ll start with pro’s and con’s.

Pro’s -

  1. AMAZING SHOT REGISTRY.
  2. Beautiful graphics.
  3. Very cinematic cutscenes.
  4. MP Maps not being taken from campaign.

Con’s - (bear with me… this WILL BE LONG…)

  1. Loadouts, IMO, they are not halo material. Halo is about finding your weapons, scavenging for them. Not picking what you start with. Almost everyone uses plasma grenades and sticks a vehicle, or uses a plasma pistol and emps them, making vehicles far less powerful and almost making them suicidal considering everyone will be EMPing you, or sticking you.

  2. Soundtrack… It just didn’t have the halo sound to it, that amazing choir, orchestral music, to the BA guitars, or the intesnes/suspenseful drum beats, or the really mellow and somewhat bittersweet music (Never forget, honestly, it’s my favorite soundtrack in any halo game…)While in Halo 4, none of the soundtrack sticks to me, 117 was great though, the only one I can remember, but the funny thing is that I’m pretty sure a different composer made 117 than the guy who made the other soundtracks. No offense to him, he makes great music, but not great halo music… The music in this game is more like a dubstep/techno sound to it, which just doesn’t fit with halo. If I compare the halo 1 theme to the halo 4 theme, I honestly just can’t even describe how pumped up I get when I hear the halo 1 theme, and the halo 4 theme is just, boring…

  3. The campaign’s lack of variety. As I mentioned before. Almost every mission in halo 4 looks identical, stainless steel patterns, just like the forged maps in reach, all gray and dull colors every wheres. While in the other halo games every campaign mission varied from one another. Halo 4’s dull missions makes exploration boring. Who remembers the delta halo mission from halo 2? You start off in a tropical island like jungle place with temple like structures, and eventually you take an elevator into an underwater fortress. It’s amazing. When I was in that elevator that brought you through the sea, it felt so alive! While in halo 4 everything feels dull, depressing, and dead. That might be what they want, but it’s not what anyone I know wants. Hence all my friends hating the campaign…

  4. The models… The jackals look fat, and the grunts look ridiculous, and the marines look like they’re going to play paintball. What happened to Master chiefs armor? Why did it change? He was in the cryo thing for 4 years, it’s not like his armor is going to randomly morph into new things. I miss the green marine armor, I want our marines back, not the halo 4 marines. They look like they belong in battlefield 3… Not halo. Yeah, I know there are green ones, but they wear that ridiculous mask

  5. Multiplayer maps… Might as well team slayer and big team to Big team ragnarock, and Ragnarock team slayer, because thats the only map people vote for, (it being the only good map IMO, lets not forget it was a remake…) I just didn’t enjoy a single MP map, my friends all felt the same, they all said they disliked every map besides Ragnarock and exile. But I do give credit to 343 for not taking the MP maps from campaign, like what bungie did with Reach. Kudo’s to 343 for that one:)

  6. The armor. I remember in all halo games, the spartans had more armor than the black kevlar looking stuff. Now in halo 4, its very little armor and more black kevlar. Also, I remember in halo 3 and reach, you could really tell what armor another player was wearing, while in halo 4, it’s almost impossible to recognize what armor another player is wearing, besides the helmets (Which look… Not like halo material.) You can’t tell what shoulders or chest plate someone is wearing considering they’re very little things to see, while in halo 3, I could see some guy across the map and think to myself “Oh wow, he’s wearing EOD helmet, recon shoulders, and a hayabusa chest plate!” While in halo 4 I will see someone and think “He’s wearing a soldier helmet, and…” I can’t recognize anything besides the helmet.

  7. The lack of elites in MP. Lots of the elite players were disappointed by this. I mentioned before that they removed them for some canon reason. But 343i, if canon is going to cut content that the fanbase loves, then please, just remove it. Let’s stick with the original mp style.

Now that I’m done ranting, here’s my suggestions, I’ll try to wrap things up so this isn’t to long.

  1. Ultra team slayer
    Sense we’re going to be playing this on xbox one, I know it could handle 30 player servers. 15 Player teams is very reasonable. Ultra team would basically be big team, but much larger and more intense. Halo 5 could have maybe one or two maps designed just for this game type, each being very large. Possibly with objectives to keep things running, so that players won’t be spending 90% of their time exploring or trying to find someone, but more time rushing to the objectives so they actually can find the other players.

  2. VIDMASTERS! Remember earning the recon helmet? That amazing feeling of accomplishing it? Imagine if 343i made some amazing helmet that required vidmaster achievements to earn it.

  3. Elites in MP, I’ve already covered this enough. Just please 343i, bring them back…

  4. A forge world like reach’s. Possibly more terrain, less water. Allow us to spawn tree’s like you did with forge island. Maybe a weather effect, and a trigger that could activate a soundtrack when someone touches the trigger, it could be editable range of the trigger like how you’d edit a king of the hill spot, or something.

  5. In co-op campaign, have players 2-4 play as other characters rather than master chief. Like what they did in halo 3. I loved that feature.

That’s all, I’d add more but I’m out of characters :frowning: Feel free to reply or debate.

Forgot to mention that they should add hornes, falcons, and dual wielding back, also bring back the smg!

how about larger vehicles such as the scarabe pelican and the phantom?

Doubt a scarab would work, but I bet they could find a way. I also was gonna mention a phantom and pelican if they had an invasion game type
