I saw IGN’s preview video of war zone firefight and wow does it look impressive ! A shame that the character models are 30fps in a 60fps environment but it allows for large scale battles we have never seen before.
I noticed that only 2900 or so req points were given at the end of the 5 rounds and that req energy progression and numbers are fairly inline with regular war zone.
I want 343 to be a bit more generous with the REQ system for firefight. Using a lot of vehicles and power weapons is fun and all but for those bosses the player will want a return on their investment when they use up something like a Mantis. I hope req points rewarded at the end of a round are adequate enough so that if i were to continue playing war zone non stop- there would be a near equal amount of reqs used then after reqs gained would allow me to continue playing without too much trouble.
My second opinion is there needs to be a higher req level than 8. For war zone I think this could be around 14 maybe so that players can store more points to equip better load outs. For example similar to a MOBA a player would be able to stack more over shields if they wanted to be a TANK character or more damage boosts to be the DAMAGE DEALER etc. I think war zone has a lot of potential but 343 can’t do this half hearted approach if they want us to sink into it for hours on end. Also consider the old system where firefight is near infinite in the match time as 5 rounds and game over sounds a bit peculiar.
My final solution is that firefight req packs should be a thing. So instead of having to play 3 or 4 games of firefight to get gold reqs that would only last like 2 rounds of firefight, instead these special packs cost roughly the same amount as the points rewarded when you finish a firefight game and offer multiple consumable items only. This way people can continue to play without running out of reqs for those mythic bosses.
Sorry if the above is a bit convoluted, I just see so much scope in what this mode can bring to the table !! Please improve upon my suggestions in the comments below and bump this up so 343 read and understand and consider. Thank you !!

It’d be cool to have 5000 RP rewarded, but that’ll never happen…
After every game you could get a free req pack for using reqs. The req pack would only be consumbles of random rarity with a small chance of getting a req you don’t have the cert for. This would provide motivation for players to play WZ firefight matches regularly, so there would always be a sizeable population.
The fact that 343 is putting in a PVE playlist is certainly going to reach out for those wanting an adventure in this big sci fi universe.
I don’t see how firefight will be challenging if they do what you’re wanting. Stacking O/S, damage boost, having the perfect weapon setup, ect ect would take away that challenge if you ask me. I think we’re lucky we get reqs to begin with, in odst and reach you used what was given to you rather than having unlimited missives or tanks, ect ect.

Wasn’t Reach like 20 minutes or something?
I think I should be random weapon drops with ammo dumps rather than reqs. Just to make it a touch more challenging. Maybe get a warthog at the start of each round or something, idk. I don’t think players should be able to bring a ridiculous arsenal to bear. That sort of flies in the face of what firefight is. Remember Lone Wolf from Halo reach? The very, very last level, the final holdout? I would love something like that. Obviously, the AI numbers are going to be insane for this mode…

But some people do, so where’s that option for them? In ODST and Reach, Firefight was unlimited. Only the Firefight matchmaking in Reach had a time limit, but you could always do an endless version in customs.
Some of us loved that survival aspect of the game, not “rush to kill all enemies before the time runs out”. While Warzone Firefight sounds fun and I am excited for it, I can’t help but feel it’s gonna be just whipping out your REQS and murdering everything before the time runs out instead of the strategic survival mode that a lot of us fell in love with.
Totally agree. Assuming each round takes 5 minutes, you’ll finish the match after 25 minutes with only 2900 RP? At least boost it to 3000 for the amount of reqs we’ll be using.
Firefight is amazing, I love playing it on reach.
We saw on the IGN gameplay that failing round 4 (at 14 minutes) gave over 2,000 RP. We can only expect it to go higher for completing round 5

It was located offline. If I recall correctly, most of Halo Reach online was just one round with a bonus round, especially Arcade where the point was to get the most points.

Some objectives require you to hunt down the enemy or take down a certain amount of them in an amount of time, or capture a base.
I like the idea of having a consumable only pack that is weighted towards popular FF items. I imagine that 343 will be doing some data analysis that will tell them how much the average player spends, then reward us with a bit less than that.
