I have now seen 4 different polls, and no less than 20 posts or comments with lots of agreeing likes and replies, all talking about how terrible the current radar is. I don’t understand why this isn’t an easy thing to address; they already have the ability to scale the radar, it’s in the Custom Games settings.
Why don’t they just change it to 25m? @343 ask the community! Make a poll!
It does feel a bit odd sometimes how someone who’s sprinting can practically still sneak up on you if you’re not listening… since the time it takes for them to close the distance on the radar is faster than most people can react (which is almost fine?)
motion tracker distance should be the same as footfall audibility distance in an ideal setting I think.

Lol yeah I have; I’ve made two now lol, both like 90% in favor of making it bigger. But 343 sometimes make their own feedback polls on here because that’s easier than looking through all the community posts. I wish they’d do that so it would be abundantly clear that the community really wants the good radar back.
The radar is fine. I don’t get what the problem is.
It’s so small, both the range and the UI. It says “18m” but it’s even smaller than that compared to past games. If the old Halos had a 25m radar, this one is no more than 15m. It means someone can walk up behind you and be almost at you by the time you’ve spun around. As a player with a hearing disability, that’s super frustrating. I know other people can hear the footsteps in the game but I cannot, and the radar used to mitigate that. Now, I feel like I get snuck up on constantly.
I also have trouble seeing anything on the radar because the UI itself is so small.
The current radar is pretty much useless unless you’re playing without any audio…
And even then, you’re getting shot or naded before you even see a blip.
I don’t even bother looking at it anymore, I just keep my ears open for footsteps.
Exactly, and that’s the thing that gets me is I have a hearing problem (and a loud house lol), so I can’t even hear the footsteps. That didn’t used to be an issue cause in the older games, if they were close enough to hear I could always see them on radar.
