343 please no premium

I liked the idea where you just give free maps and modes but i didn’t like the way where we only had few content at launch. Halo 2 did a perfect job with it, lots of content, then free maps and modes.

Halo 3, reach and 4 was a bit dissapointing where we had to pay more maps.

There shouldn’t be any premium in Halo Infinte, like what BF5 is doing but lack of content like what Halo 5 had.

Best way is to nit do premium, release lots of maps and modes at launch, then give free dlcs such as maps and modes like what Halo 2 did.

Do you agree?

halo 2 had paid maps and i dont recall any new modes being added. It was called the multiplayer map pack and it had its own disc. Halo infinite could do premium content but they need to get the game right at launch. H5 is terrible because it launched with bad gameplay and less content than halo CE. H3 had premium maps that were arguably not worth the price tag but it didnt take away from a great game until later on when maps were needed to play certain base playlists. Halo reach had forge maps which were -Yoink-. H4 was just a crappy game.

None of the halos added game modes after launch. Halo 5 took away all but 3 game variants and said microtransactions and pay-to-win games were what paid for anything after LUL

Map packs have always been a paid thing, iirc the only game that released everything for free was Halo 5. If Infinite has microtransactions, I’d much rather have them be for a couple map packs instead of paid loot boxes (which are confirmed to not return).

But now most games cost 50 or 60 quid, and season pass, season pass needs to stop. Halo 5 did free maps but lack of content. Free maps are good idea but still has to have lots of content.

60$ at launch is already a premium. Also 343i has said that they prefer h5 dlc over map packs as to not divide the player base.

I’d much rather have paid cosmetics in order to have free maps/modes. I’ve always hated map packs as after the game has been out for awhile, it becomes impossible to find games in map pack maps. So the map packs end up being a waste of money in the long run too

For example, it is all but impossible to find games for any Halo Reach DLC map other than the CEA maps and has been for years.

It’d be nice to get maps for free but dlc is main stream now and for whatever reason publishers see that the game can’t sell well without dlc or seasons pass’s

Whatever 343 does, I hope they don’t go back to the old system where they release map packs that need to be bought. In Halo 3, I almost never got to experience the DLC maps they made for that game. And in the case of Halo Reach and 4, I never got to experience them in matchmaking at all. Not until the Master Chief Collection and I got to play Halo 4’s DLC maps then.

343 is absolutely right when they say that this old way of distributing new maps puts a gigantic wedge in the middle of the playerbase. The “haves” and the “have-nots.”

Please no paid DLC. I’m still mad about not getting to play Reach’s Defiant map pack I paid for. Not even on launch day.

Imo Warzone is a great solution, if it has to have some kind of monetization. Just don’t put the armors in there.

I almost never got to experience custm games much in H3 as sandbox and foundry were DLC but then cuz ODST but now just free dpcs since games now cost more money

I’d prefer for 343 to give Halo 6 the same treatment as they gave Halo 5, when it came to maps and so on. I would rather avoid the paid loot boxes ofcourse, but the benefit was a playerbase that wasn’t split because of maps.

I’ve never understood the thought process behind map packs. There’s nothing player-friendly about them. New packs end up splitting the playerbase as has been mentioned, but the population for those new maps isn’t all that high for those who bought them either. So those maps don’t serve to satisfy anyone after the first few days really.

There’s nothing necessarily wrong with making some extra money from a game after it launches provided it’s not through a predatory or bloated system. Halo 5 did it partially correct where the maps were all released for everyone. But the REQ system is pretty awful. If Infinite’s system is reworked to have microtransactions for cosmetics only with those cosmetics still available for purchase with in-game credits, I think that would be okay. Then everyone would still have all the maps without having a progression/loadout system which can be ignored entirely by dropping loads of cash.

Remember like bubble shield and these stuff, we had to find them in a map and that’s what made it fun. It woukd be cool if they di that gor jetpacks if that comes back but no sprint and armor lock, also no loadouts.

I’m fine with map packs, just make them a reasonable price.

I’m on the side of no map packs. While I’ve bought every pack in the games past, they do split the player base. And later on in the life cycle of the game those maps die because nobody wants to buy them.

Keep maps free and if we have micro-transactions make them purely cosmetics. Even if you add armor to that, allow us to be able to get the armor in game through whatever method they choose.

Im pretty sure 343i made the DLC maps for Halo 3 and Halo Reach free now.

I agree that micro-transactions in a non intrusive form can benefit everyone with a continuous stream of new content.

I hope micro-transactions are only cosemetics, there’s not of youtubers critizing about microtransactions

That would be absolutely great, don’t complain too much about MTX after though.
