343, please keep this predatory F2P monetization

I love how I’m getting free content without spending a single dime and can play this game indefinitely because they’re purchasing literally everything in the shop. Keep it up!

But seriously, do any of you really want to pay for new maps or toys for your Spartan? I don’t, because I’m cheap as hell.

Yes. I would rather pay $60 to have a complete MP experience. Hell, I’d rather pay $80.

Yeah, I’m perfectly fine with paying for the base game and for DLC. Not to mention that Paid DLC could be cheapened by some Game Pass discount.

Even if that means fewer updates to better the game or potential sequels?

You don’t need as many updates when a game is complete. That’s the funny thing about completing a game. Yeah, OH WOW we get so many updates! Because the game needs more updates because it is incomplete! Amazing logic.

can you PLEASE look to the past?
halo CE didn’t have dlc… AND LOOK WHERE HALO IS NOW. halo 2 had dlc, and that was amazing. halo 3,reach, and 4 also had DLC. only reason 4 didn’t kick off was because it was a bad halo game

Good luck getting funding for better sequels, then. Games are much more expensive to make than back then because of art assets and increasing complexity of interconnected systems in the backend of a game. And increasing bureaucracy and pressure to meet shareholder deadlines. It is what it is, and capitalism has worked in my cheap favor.

Did I not say I would pay $80?

Most people wouldn’t, though.

Sure they would, though.

Have you seen the outrage at $70 games? Either way, this monetization is great for Halo’s longevity. Yeah, there’s problems with the progression being somewhat strict, but overall, it’s better than planned obsolescence, even if this is supposed to be a 10-year game.

People will pay $20 for a skin a different shade of blue

People won’t pay $70 for a game

Yeah, people -Yoink!-. They will still pay it. Just like people -Yoink!- about skins will still buy them. I’d rather at least pay $70 or $80 for complete content, than $1000 for the same amount of cosmetics.

They dont charge for dlc because a year later you cant find games on those maps beside halo 3 which made them free

I guess we have different values then, because I sure as hell am not giving multi-billion, tax evading corporations more than they deserve, which is nothing.

People rage about it because they know they’re still going to be charged microtransactions ontop of it, and be forcefed mechanics that incentivize them to buy them.

But you’ll encourage them to continue to charge people more money for the same things? Lol. Don’t try and take a moral ground here buddy, because you are on the wrong side of that argument.

yeah its funny I have one friend that I play with regularly, loves to complain about “modern” gaming and how he wishes games went back to be full price, despite the fact that he will likely never spend a dime on this game or any game again.

Now I personally would be happy to pay $60 for a game that was awesome, heck, it could be $100 for all I care, but I realize that I’m a small minority. Lots of folks just want a simple and easy gaming experience where they play with friends but don’t necessarily want to spend tons of money.

You are not. I am all for them moving up the antiquated and arbitrary game price. If it means we will get complete games again.

Buddy, if they have to resort to reselling the Cadet Blue color you get for free just because it goes to the Yoroi armor core, maybe the game doesn’t deserve to last 10 years.

Yeah, if I can get some fun for free. Bleed 'em dry.
