My custom challenges have not been working for months now and im getting tierd of earning 3k credits a game with 19.4 million to go till inheritor Please fix this.

You should add a third option called “343 doesn’t care about what happens on Reach.” That’s what many of us would vote.
I wouldn’t say that 343 does not care about Halo: Reach, due to the fact that they still look into the big bugs that come about in their servers (the rank/spartan armor glitch). If they really did not care about Halo: Reach, they would just shut down the servers and not even bother trying to fix bugs.
Halo 4 and the development of Halo 5 is their biggest concern, from what I can observe. Saying that “343 does not care” is saying that you would rather have 343 focus on old halo games that have a low populace and abandon the new and upcoming halo games with a high populace. Does that make any sense to anyone?
Why can’t you play the game instead of trying to cheat your way to inheritor by using custom challenges? Also, I am thinking that the custom challenges are for you to make for your friends, not yourself. Just stick with the regular daily/weekly challenges and you’ll eventually get inheritor.

and to add to this, the Higher your rank the more credits you earn per game, and also I believe that the higher in your commendations you are that this also increases the credits you earn per game.

Months…mine only stopped working recently. I have a low rank and no Gold, I actually need custom challenges very much. Is this issue triggered by a certain action, and is there some way to fix it ourselves? I mean, if the challenges only start to not work once you do something, a similar or opposite action might fix it.

19.4 million? That’s like all of it.
Many people are experiencing the same issue, but if you look at other forums about this problem, 343 has said themselves that they have received many reports about it and they will look into whats wrong and how to fix it. Seeing as Reach is no longer their main concern, it’ll probably be awhile before we see an update as to whether or not this issue has been corrected, it’s just gonna take some patience

I fail to see how custom challenges are cheating. They count toward cR cap, bridge the gap of cR earning between Campaign and Multiplayer, and encourage players to keep playing the game. If it were cheating, it wouldn’t have been added as a feature. Also, since rank doesn’t actually get you matched up with more/less skilled players, only stats and performance are factors for that, it really shouldn’t matter how high a person’s rank is (or if they “earned it legit”).
Personally, I like the fact that if every challenge for the day is Multiplayer based, I can just create one for myself and my friends that is suited to our play style. I really don’t much care for the over competitive climate of the MM playlists, which is why my commendations for multiplayer are so far behind my campaign and firefight commendations.
The simple fact is that many people like the aesthetic of the armor in Reach, and use it in their machinima. Since the only way to give more visual depth to those characters, and make them truly distinct, is to change their armor, it is only fair that they have the ability to unlock said armor without having to spend every waking hour playing Reach.
I hope 343i gets this issue solved quickly, for I would love to begin issuing new challenges to my friends.
On a side note: Anyone claiming that these challenges are just a legal form of boosting needs to read up on what boosting actually requires. Stop judging people for playing a video game differently (yet still within the original constraints of the developers) from you. Chances are you will never encounter them in your gaming, so what they do is irrelevant to you.
They pulled the same thing with the population counter: silence for the most part, and it took them a few months to finally get around to fixing it.
I wouldn’t hold my breath on the fact that 343 will fix custom challenges soon.
