The issue with BR is that it tries to, at its core, combine exploration and random chance combat.
Those things are the two most annoying things to arena shooter players who pride their experience in learning maps, learning spawns and working this into their psyche as a FPS shooter.
That’s kinda why CS players never really wanna play BRs, and Arena shooters don’t want to either. We don’t really wanna leave it up to chance and react to what happens, we wanna dominate with preparation and practice.
That’s also why people hate the random racks system with Infinite as well as Random Selection of Ordanance drop in H4. Halo players just hate leaving it up to chance.

Yes, there are many things that need to be fixed and improved upon, but a game type or game mode like a Battle Royale style would add another element to the game. The purpose of this is to gain success and continue to move this game forward that was delayed an entire year and probably should’ve been delayed again.
As much as I hate to admit it, we might NEED a BR to bring in new fans.
I mean let’s face it, OG Halo fans are far and few between these days, as the majority have moved on to other games. At least with a BR mode, it could bring in new fans to play with, regardless if some of them are squeakers (Even though Halo has always had it’s fair share of squeakers).
Also, what’s with the scorn towards bringing in new fans? Shouldn’t we be teaching a new generation of fans how good Halo was, is, and can be?

Another negative consequence of releasing a BR in Halo before you get core issues resolved is that you most likely won’t bring back many fans for an extended period of time. But the fans that are still in the game will now be split between standard MP and a new BR game type raising the chances that it becomes harder to find games for both.
The rumor I have seen is that it may only be a 40 player mode instead of 100, but still could cause issues.
Then we should stop buying Halo. Get MCC for the real classics and drop everything else. If 343 doesn’t wish to create a game for Halo fans, than what is the point? I can’t believe anyone would genuinely want to work for such a preposterous company.

A new generation would totally acceptable if 343 made good Halo games. 343 is ignoring the group that cares about Halo the most. Esports is the dominant thing in number company’s hierarchy. As soon as those new fans become Halo fans, 343 will drop them. The hypothetical new fans deserve better.
I love Halo and I like Fortnite. And I want a BR more in Halo 
Easy money I guess, honestly I think people just use 343 as a stepping stone to move onto other things it’s like aph I’ll get some expereince and bounce. 343 as a whole doesn’t come off like a company that is able to keep staff on board too long because it doesn’t have that passion to let devs create freely.
So it’s just a factory game shop at that point. Just get your experience and bounce is how it works there

Well, despite personally disliking every BR cept for the occasional couple of matches of apex, I disagree. Plenty of people will pick the game back up if it starts a Battle royale mode. As lame as that is.
I would like a warzone playlist, but with a twist. If player want a br, then make it where you use drop pods to land and you respawn that way. You should do multiple objectives and only spawn with a pistol. You would then scavage the map and get weapons to capter the objective.

Respawn should happen only 5 times so you cant play recklessly. We would have a br that is unique and pretty cool.
I actively do not want a Battle Royale even if it’s something I can completely ignore. Not every game needs to have a BR mode and Halo should set the example.

Counter argument : Halo can take this chance to develop a new genre altogether out of the BR template, which I imagine why they’re code naming it Tatanka (iirc it means Bison) instead of BR. There are many settings that reflect BR gameplay but that’s not to say it will be a direct copy paste of the BR format. I trust CA to not let us down on this.
And besides can people come up with better excuses for Halo not having BR instead of just “Halo shouldn’t follow other games” ?
I’m resistant to a BR mode as well but this sloppy excuse being thrown around just makes the Halo community look like a bunch of hippies.
I’ll say let CA finish it up, and let us flight an early version of it before making it live. We can then judge for ourselves if this “BR” is truly worthy to be put into the game or just ignored and left to rot.

The only reason I’m against anything new is because the base game play is still badly broken. De-synch and exceedingly poor Server Selection (250 ms ping times because 343 thinks Amsterdam server is closer to Alberta Canada than a Seattle Server) make the game unplayable.
So putting any activity out when the game play is so broken makes zero sense. Imagine they hype a BR play mode, but still have not fixed these core issues. Anyone trying it out for the first time will be instantly turned off and never come back to it. They will continue to lose more players and do more damage to the franchise than they already have.
And 343 has given no estimated Time Line when these crucial issues will be resolved.
343 isn’t even working on the BR, CA is. Unless you are telling CA to fix Halo Infinite?

It doesn’t matter. If 343 hasn’t fixed the De-synch and Server Selection code by then, then the BR will be shoved out on top of this and fail miserably.
Basically i have ZERO FAITH in 343 that they will fix anything.
Have you seen the amount of positions ways open at that place. They don’t have like a solid group that’s there from begging to end and beyond.

They broke a 12v12, somim.happy a while other studio is working on it, but as soon as 343 you he’s it you know they will break it… That other studio is going to hand it over for finalozation andn343 is going to b elite oh no this needs that 343 spin on it.
I think if they emd up doing a battle royale, id rather it be more like the COD battle royale and less like the Fortnite battle royale
