343 please confirm: Custom games modding OK?

In order for me to confirm this as a go, I want a very high ranked person here to answer this. I had seen epic mods on youtube, and I really want to play those. But for safety reasons, I want to know if it’s OK. The only modded games I will be playing is on custom games. I will not do it in matchmaking. Please confirm.

Mods are game-changing gametypes and maps that make Halo 4 more EPIC and very FUN. Allowing this will make most, if not all Halo 4 players VERY happy.

Playing, downloading and editing modding gametypes will NOT get you banned. However, actually creating them will.

If you make modded gametypes, you will get banned. If you just play them in Customs, you’ll be just fine. But if you’re really worried about it, the best thing to do is just not play them.

Hmmmmm…

Creating them?

Let’s see if someone confirms this…

Will creating mods for custom games get you banned?
(For admins, moderators, and people who really know halo)

It doesn’t take someone from 343i or a moderator for someone to confirm it. This system has been in place for many years now. Believe me, I’d know.

You cannot talk about this stuff on these forums.

I can pretty much guarantee that will get you banned. Modding anything on the Xbox will get you banned.

I don’t like modding at all, halo 4 is good enough to play, you shouldn’t have to mod in order to make a game fun.

yeah because the moderators have too much power and dictate anything they don’t like , they need more leniency like the bungie forums.

"Types of violation include, but are not limited to, the following example actions:

• Modifying your Xbox 360 hardware or game software and services in any way."

https://forums.halowaypoint.com//yaf_postst135680_The-Official-Halo-4-Ban-Thread.aspx

“Don’t do the following… Don’t modify or hack game content …”

No exceptions listed for “just” playing on it.

Just because they may not be banning for it, doesn’t mean it isn’t breaking the rules.

If you drive 5 MPH over the speed limit but don’t get stopped, you’re still breaking the law, still breaking the speed limit. You just didn’t get caught or the units on patrol went after other speeders and you got lucky.

Or… because it directly says in the forum rules bade by 343i that discussing modding Xbox content is againat the rules.

And because the Xbox Rules in general state that modding isn’t aloud.

I think mods in custom games are cool because my friend showed
me a mod he didnt created it he jest found it and it makes you small like midjit size.

There are so many custom gametypes mods at the moment because 343 hasnt fixed any of the current ones, believe me that everything would be more dead if they werent here so I dont get why is there such hate against them (talking about custom gametypes mods only). MM is still unplayable. The sad truth.

if you want to risk it, go ahead.

funny considering they let you insult other members on that site and won’t do anything about it, i remember seeing a ninja telling another member to “shut the **** up” that’s just lazy, sets up a bad example. and that’s pretty much why most discussions over there end up turning into a flamewar.

mods can really mess up your game

sure…
