I liked the Previous halo game sounds for the BR better than the current version. It just doesn’t sound powerful anymore. It doesn’t have that “UMPH” that the BR should have. This is NOT hate. It is constructive criticism.
Here is a gameplay of the Halo 4 BR just to demonstrate. You can compare it to the other sounds.

Here is an example of the sound in halo 2

I like those sounds better than the Halo 4’s BR. Maybe in Halo 5? It doesn’t bother me too much but I love the BR so its better to have a nicer sound. 343 did a nice job with the Scattershot and Beam Rifle in my opinion.
I would love the Halo 3 sound when it fires, but keep the Halo 4 sound for reloading.
I feel the same way. I’m glad I’m not the only that feels it should go back to those sounds. The Sniper Rifle also sounds like crap.
To be honest I feel like the Halo 4 BR sounds packs a punch compared to other BR’s, I feel like this is just nostalgia speaking.
I wouldn’t mind if they removed the first person sound byte and replaced it the with the third person one for the BR. It sounds a lot better to me.
Actually, know that I think about it, this applies to most weapons.
i prefer the halo 4 sound

This represents a majority of people in the Halo 4 section
Thank goodness more people agree. I hate that the BR in Halo 4 sounds like an airsoft gun, other than that the sounds are mostly fine.
IMO, it doesn’t have that deep sound it had in previous Halo’s that made it truly feel like a powerful rifle.
I don’t dislike Halo 4’s BR sound effects, it’s just that I prefer the way it sounded in Halo 2/3.

I can agree on that. They did use realistic weapons though but slightly altered it to sound more futuristic. But I think the sound needs to be deeper.
I like Halo 4’s sound design and I think Sotaro Tojima and his team did a wonderful job.

I’m not saying its bad. I like The Scattershot and Beam rifle sounds alot!
I do like the new sound effects for the most part, but yes, the BR sounds pretty weak. kinda like a bunch of crickets.
I think it sounds allot more powerful in Halo 4 than Halo 3. Compare the two clips. Halo 3’s BR doesn’t have the same crack IMO.
The H4 BR sounds like a lawnmower that is failing to start, or a dying cat, pick your poison.
H2/H3 BR sounded far superior.

I agree. In my personal opinion I think Halo 2 has the strongest sound to it. Halo 3 is amazing as well. Halo 4’s could be better.

That doesn’t even make sense.

I compared the clips and for me the BR for Halo 4 is more quiet when shot compared to Halo 2’s and 3’s.
I have no clue what you’re talking about OP
The BR85’s sound is a combination of the Colt M16 and FN SCAR-H… It’s a combination of 5.56mm and 7.62mm NATO cartridge weapons firing at the same time, how can that not be the sound of power?
