I don’t understand this character development claim. In my opinion, the original trilogy had little character development aside from Cortana, the Arbiter and Johnson. Chief had hardly any.
Am I the only one who would like Chris Schlerf back? Too bad he’s with Bioware now. I really like Nylund’s writings, but there really is big difference between writing video games, and books, so that wouldn’t work. I like Staten a lot, but he’s already gotten a better job, so that would be unfair to him, and it could help if the guy implemented a little character development every once in a while.

I thought he was just writing a book.
Honestly would of been a way better game if you the player went through the campaign with the perspective of what Chief was going through while with blue team and Locke’s team trying to figure out why. By that i mean both sides of the complete story. It didn’t need to be the same maps but transition well to know what they are doing, how they got there and where it will lead. Nope 343i failed at that…

If that was true, I would be so unbelievably happy. I love Halo 5, but I felt the story could be handled better. I have nothing against Brian Reed, but he just doesn’t seem like the guy for the job.
having this being my first experience with Brian Reed as head writer, please bring back Staten. The story’s pacing and character development was trash and I’m normally not very picky about those.

The old Halos have finesse in development of the characters, i mean, you understand them and you like them, they are cool and not forced id10ts “badass”, they are natural, in my opinion of course.
I try hard to like Palmer, Lasky and Locke, but why Locke need to ignore Buck when he said something? Why Locke need to all the time made “cool things” like crack the Chief visor? or staring into nothing with a heroic position, they forced this, not natural.
My opinion.
Its like the entire Halo 5 character development is that scene in Halo 3 when Miranda says “to war”, understand? meaningless
But i liked the development of Exuberant, she is really great.
