It is an issue when they’re basing their reasons on their beliefs. This is a big problem in this world today and with something as silly as this, it shows.
You want to believe the world is flat, fine by all means but with all the facts out there that prove it is not flat, don’t try and convince others it is flat or spread your reasons for assuming it’s flat as facts.
Stop saying « there is a simple solution to this problem » cause it’s not true.
If you allow xbox players to exclude mnk then you kill the mnk because they aren’t enough to make the matchmaking works.
And I know that some selfish controller players like you don’t care about it but hopefully it’s not 343 willingness.
Of course, in a perfect world, in a perfect game, with a perfect launch and millions players in activity, everyone would be interested in an input filter but it is not a reality.
As for the whole input debate, it’d be extremely obvious to anyone who used both inputs before the December update that controller had the advantage. Now I also think that they 343 addressed it in the recent update wasn’t the right way to go about it, but it is certainly more even between the two than it ever was before.
When has controller ever lost? Controller has always been a win. Controller didn’t get nerfed, even though that would of made the most sense. KBM received a slight buff that actually gave it a fighting chance now, and now you want to not play with them? KBM as been forced to play against controller with not only the removal of KBM ranked play, but extremely low KBM player count. It’s not like the tables have been turned, controller is STILL the advantage.
Input based matchmaking options will fix the problem. Disabling crossplay will only kill the remaining player base by limiting who can and cannot play with friends. There is zero legitimate reason to disable crossplay.
Once again false news. You can not tell who is playing on what system. PC will show up on your Xbox profile if you have discord or your XBL account attached to your PC. This does not mean that user is actively playing on PC.
Desync is not caused by crossplay. Halo Infinite is the only game that features high levels of desync. No other crossplay game does. Literally zero.
Desync is caused by poor network code, the engine, and by Xbox profile and how it collects data to produce stats. Some of it is fixable, some of it is not. Crossplay has nothing to do with it. No matter what you claim you “experience“ to be.
Should add option to disable playing people at different fps, fov and different controller types too. Series x has advantage over base Xbox one. Generaly speaking, higher fov means you see more, giving an advantage but there’s the trade off of aiming feels off at higher fov in halo, though don’t have those problems in apex or cod. Why should people with base Xbox controller have to player elite controllers with extra paddles or those custom controllers with extra buttons on the back you can grab off of Amazon?
This is half sarcasm, half serious. If you want to toggle some, you should toggle it all.
Crossplay is short for cross platform play, which is hardware. EG: Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, Android and PC.
Crossinput is input of choice. Either open to other inputs or locked to your input.
Technically if you disable Crossplay, your locking your play to your hardware. meaning you’ll only be matched with players to your hardware regardless of input.
If you’re on console with a controller, you’ll be matched with only console players regardless if they’re using controller or KBM with their Xbox.
Same applies for PC.
Disable Crossinput means you’ll be matched to players with your input, regardless of hardware.
If you’re on console with controller, you’ll be matched with Xbox and PC players who are also using controller.
The argument with crossplay is all over the place. Some who want it are wanting to not play with KBM players, and some are not wanting to play with PC players. Some think that PC itself is the advantage, and some think KBM is the advantage.
So then what about the ones who think PC itself is the advantage, regardless of their input?
Because you know, I can play at 32x9 and see twice as much as consoles 16x9. I can get 500ish FPS which is a lot more than console. People will claim this and more as an advantage with PC.
Yes, removing crossplay means that Xbox players can only play with other Xbox players. Input based matchmaking would mean controller players only play with controller players and M&KB with M&KB. But Xbox and PC can still play with each other.
You and I both know PC has no advantage. Especially when the average PC is 144hz. Even still tick rate keeps things as fair as there going to get.
That being said it has been noted recently that there is a difference between Xbox and PC as well as steam vs. Microsoft store versions of Halo. Though it was not intentional. The team is looking into the issues.
Oh I know, but this is the normal arguments for wanting crossplay/crossinput.
What are they? I’ve been using the MS version since it hasn’t crashed on me, but it did last night during my last team sniper game.
As far as I know, the Steam version is easier to modify the files and can be forced to run as admin. All can be done also with the MS version, just not too many people know how to take over ownership of the files.
Yes, 343 just had a meeting with several members of the Forerunner program who are PC players. These two members reported feeling as though the steam and Microsoft version of the game played differently. I’ve also reported the same. The team has no idea why currently.
It’s also been reported that melee lunge is far more inconsistent on PC than on Xbox. The team has also finally identified a bug where changing the mouse DPI/sensitivity will affect controller sensitivity.
Different in what way? Is one better than the other? I spent days working on dialing in settings and used both versions with RivaTuner and each performed the same. My only issues were the MS version didn’t really like me overclocking my card too much.
I’m not sure. Honestly, I switch between the two all the time. For me, I notice a major difference between sensitive/controller settings each update. And the steam version seems to crash a lot less.
Thankfully one of my 343 friends is an engineer. So I just send him the bucket ID from the “view all problems report” on windows and he can see what’s caused the crash. Usually.
