You’re wanting it for the wrong and false reasons. You, for one, think that aim assist just slows down your crosshair. It’s been proven countless of times that it tracks your enemy but yet you’re in denial and will still claim is doesn’t?
Give me a legitimate reason why you don’t want to play with KBM players? The reasons I’m reading here are not accurate and are assumptions.
big +1 for all the crossplay threads that are asking the same thing that crossplay most never become force and always become a option to turn off.
same for the input crossplay and between platforms.
I honestly don’t feel any AA when holding the Commando, Sentinel Beam or Sniper Rifle, like, AT ALL.
You need reasons, really? it doesn’t take more than three digit IQ to just know how much better, faster and more precise M+K is compared to a controller and its analog stick. I even pointed it in one of my previous posts - turning around takes split of a second, each gun controls the same as oppose to controller where every gun play differently, even in your own vide you said yourself the pistol’s AA doesn’t engage as fast an on BR, now multiply that by 20 or however many weapons are there in the game, strafing is so much faster on keyboard, horizontal aimng is the same as vertical as oppose to controller where they’re not the same, the list goes on and on. If the controls on consoles were any good at all, let’s say similar to CoD’s, then we could argue, but they l’re so bad you’re mostly fighting with the reticle in the first place rather than the enemy players, the only game that can “compete” with Halo in terms of controls is the infamous Killszobe 2, but at least they were consistent across the board there and didn’t differ from gun to gun.
Reason number two, actually way bigger than the inlut controls - de-f*****-sync - I’ve been adamant about that whole time and I’ll repeat yet again - PC players are desynced and unkillable, and single-handedly kill the entire experience of the game.
IntoVaIhalla told you this was false and frankly I find it hard to believe desync being locked to one platform so I ask why you seem so dead set on parroting false info?
Because from all the thousands of matches I played it’s always PC players who cause the issue, every singke time go check the “recently played with” list on XB to xheck who this desynced guy is it’s always a PC guy, it’s just not a coincidence. Recently I started to play Fiesta more and more often as it’s the node that isn’t even remotely as infested by PC players like TDM or Quick Play, and it’s totally different game, even after the recent update, it’s mostly nothing but console players, so again, it just cannot be coincidence, all the don’t connect just too perfectly. And I’ll repeat once again - don’t force it, just give me the option, those who don’t mind would will be able to leave it on, but I know for sure that the moment I’ll be able to disable crossplay my experience will be elevated to another dimension. It’s like with global/regional matchmaking - if you don’t mind playing at 200-300ms ling, all the power to you, but I enjoy my 30-50ms games thanks to regional option.
Once again this is false. Crossplay has absolutely nothing to do with desync. PC has zero advantage over console.
For the record, if your Xbox account is linked to discord or to the Xbox app on PC, it will show the PC icon on the profile page. This does not mean that person is actively playing on a PC. It just shows that their PC is linked to their account. Which should be more common now that discord is available on Xbox. So you have absolutely no way to tell which system that individual is actively playing on.
Aim acceleration isn’t the same as it is on PC. Controllers need that. Mice don’t or rather it’s ill advised. On mice, using aim acceleration means your movements won’t be 1:1 pixel perfect. The speed of your sensitivity will increase or decrease depending on how fast or slow you move the mouse. Not good for muscle memory.
For controllers, aim acceleration changes the time it takes to reach the max turn speed.
On controller, good. On mice, bad.
Removing aim acceleration would screw controllers terribly.
AA and bad hit registration ruined this game for me as a MNK player. I only recently started playing and after 30hrs, I’m done with it. Why bring a game to a new platform and give controller a huge advantage over MNK? They already have their own platform to play on with AA, why do they need a second when PC didn’t even have their own to being with? Where’s the fun in that for MNK users?
Top controller players have something like a 15% accuracy advantage over the best MNK players, it’s absolutely insane. I can maybe see the argument if it was like 3-5%, but 15% is comical: https://www.reddit.com/r/halo/comments/r3es60/accuracy_stats_for_kbm_vs_controller/
And their solution is to add AA to mouse? Yeah, I’ll pass. I don’t want software helping me to aim to try and keep up with stronger software carrying another input. It’s absolutely hilarious that game is even considered “competitive”.
Why not give players with bad map awareness radar? Or players with bad movement mechanics a speed boost? Sounds radicicolous, right? But here we are, the most crucial aspect in a FPS game, aiming, being given a huge advantage over the other.
Well my personal experience throughout the year says otherwise, and nothing will ever change my mind, like I said - thousands of matches, dane scenario, you jave to be either dumb or blind to not to be able to connect the dots. I just see/experience the same old BS ever single day, and I’m simply really sick and tired of it already, a whole year has past and the only change/improvement the hame saw was regional matchmaking, the whole rest is just cosmetics which should be the very last thing to be concerned about given the awful state of the game. At this pace maybe at Season 13 the hame will be actually playable, enjoyable. This or Halo 7 will come first.
This is one of the reasons I have little to no hope for this game anymore, maybe I’ll hang out till S3, but with such a dev behind it, and such community on top of it, there’s basically no good will from either side to ever make the game any good at all, the sole discussion about M+K vs controller alone is simply laughable, every other community, every other game out there, people just know how much M+K is superior, and yet here we are, Halo fans actually spinning the narrative the other way around. Just… No comment.
Of course MNK is superior. It’s very simple. Want aim assist? Play on console where everyone else gets it and it’s an even playing field. I have no problem in that scenario. Want to play on PC or with PC players, use their input device or no aim assist.
Why delude the PC communities experience because your input device is inferior? It’s like entering a Honda Civic in a Formula F1 race. Some guy wants to use a slow car, that means they should get a 4 lap head start advantage in a 5 lap race?
Go look at a real competitive game like CSGO and see how many people are using controllers at the highest level. Zero are. This is just garbage assist software to help casuals and less skilled players compete with and beat the best MNK users when it would never happen in the real world without assist.
And if you guys forget what the word assist means: help (someone), typically by doing a share of the work.
Sounds like it belongs in a Ranked/Competitive game, right? Give me a break.
I worry that 343i was a little too little too late to be implementing this now though. KBM was implemented a while after release in the MCC and shortly afterwards KBM only players were finding it difficult or at least very time consuming trying to find matches to play due to the low population. To the point they even wanted all KBM players ( aka, the ones who didn’t care who they were paired with ) to be forced into KBM only matches to help fill the problem.
You’re dam right this isn’t CSGO. The devs and hardcore fans wish they had a thriving community and one of the biggest esports scenes in the world.
You guys can argue all you want, but there’s a reason why your game is dead and barely breaks 1,000 viewers on Twitch and lost 90% of it’s playerbase on PC. Maybe one day you guys will figure it out.
I like CSGO, but I don’t think it’s ultra competitive nature is what the Halo devs had in mind.
I don’t think the Halo community cares all that much for twitch at the moment. I literally go there for the drops and that’s it. I mean, good on CSGO for going with a formula that works for them and solely them.
Well feel free to leave Halo. It’s obvious you do not know what you’re talking about, despite many of us here trying to explain to you. You can keep making excuses all you want but it’s not going to improve your experience in any way.
When you have the biggest franchise ever on XBOX being beat on viewers on Twitch by games like this - https://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/PlateUp! - something isn’t adding up. Sorry, but it’s embarrassing. Nobody wants to play the game or watch it, besides the hardcore fanboys. Even the pros streaming this game are constantly bad mouthing how bad the hit reg is live on stream.
I can’t be bothered to quote and comment to each reply, so I’ll try to sum it up as best as I can…
This game has been out over a year now and yes, those accuracy stats were done a while ago. But, KBM just recently received it’s update. This update should have been done a long time ago.
Halo isn’t being watched because it just isn’t exciting. The same plays you watch these so called Halo pros do, the casuals can also do and people know this. That’s not exciting. People watch professional sports because 99% of us can’t do what they can. Remember when you were a kid? (assuming most here are adults) and I don’t know, lets say you liked watching NBA and you were a Michael Jordan fan. What do you do? You lower your rim and try to dunk like him. Lowering your rim = aim assist. Halo’s rim is lowered for everybody, as long as you’re using a controller.
For the life of me, I still cannot believe we have people here believing KBM has the advantage over controller and they think KBM has since day one. And because they think this, they want a toggle so they don’t play against them.
I get it, though. Halo is suppose to be fun and somewhat kind of easy to pick up and learn but, they gave all that and some to controller. And now that they updated KBM to give them a fighting chance, rollers want a toggle to not play with them. I have news for you, you are not being rolled by KBM players. You’re being rolled by your own input.
I’ll post these again for those who haven’t seen, but Halo Daycare @iBRSwiFtYy made a couple of good videos on this topic…

You even have pros saying aim assist is too strong and needs to be nerfed. This is why they are bored of the game.
