343, now is your chance...

Dear 343,

We’ve just witnessed one of the world’s BIGGEST game flops with Destiny. A game with lots of promise, yet falls flat when put to the test. Average reviews, frustrating and confusing gameplay, and non-existent competitive multiplayer.

Now is your chance to bring Halo back! Now is your chance to show Bungie what a COMPETITIVE arena shooter looks like.

Give the people what they want with Halo 5. Don’t waste this golden opportunity to blow Destiny out of the water with what you are capable of.

We are all rooting for you. We ALL want the glory days back!

Now is your chance!

Um… have you been paying attention? They are doing that, most of the casual elements introduced in halo 4 are confirmed removed.

We’ll see…

Destiny is proof of “over-promise, under-deliver”.

SPAM.

There’s about four to eight something threads, we don’t need the extra fat.

More along the lines of “over-hype, under-deliver”.

just because destiny’s not the greatest thing ever doesn’t mean it’s not going to continue to sell extremely well.

It’s designed for people to spend tons of time grinding missions with friends. that kind of thing is really popular these days.

Not to mention quite a few events and raids that will arrive each week. It’s still got plenty under the hood.

I liked Destiny. It wasn’t all it was “promised” and hyped to be, but what game is? Titanfall was no CoD killer and every Fable game is still a see-saw between good and evil despite the “every choice matters” tagline, but not delivering on hype isn’t the same as delivering a poor game. A game can not live up to its expectations while still being a good game.

It was never promised, so it should not have been expected. I also strive to win in every game I play. Does that not make it competitive (Tell me if I am wrong)?</mark>

Rofl one of the biggest flops xDxDxD

Over exaggerating a bit there. Yeah, it was overhyped, but it’s not a colossal fail.

Fortunately I never place my game buying decisions on what other people think. I’ve seen the game on Twitch and I still intend to buy it.

And Wolfeboy1 is correct. Destiny was never hyped as an arena shooter, and it’s no surprise that people expecting an arena shooter were disappointed, just as people expecting Halo 4 were disappointed when Reach launched. When they don’t get what they expected (because they weren’t paying attention) they criticise everything about the game.

I sincerely believe that no one at 343i is or was ever worried about Destiny.

Were you expecting Destiny to be some super competitive arena game? Those games are dead. And clearly Bungie didn’t want to maje a game like that and never said any intent to. It’s a fun grinding game.

Whether or not 343 can resurrect them remains to be seen. I’m a Halo fan to the end so whatever they do I also hope they succeed.

I see. One of the ‘biggest game flops’… and you want the ‘glory days’ back… I see…

You do realize that the people who brought you your glory days are the same people who just made the ‘biggest game flop’, right?

Anyway, hype doesn’t do much at all other than give us bigger expectations that are squandered at the final product. Very rarely does a game spill it’s beans for a year, let alone two, and receive good reviews. Hype pretty much ruins the excitement for the game, rather than build it.

And the only thing I’ve seen for Halo 5 is a promo art piece and a couple BETA trailers. I say the less you reveal… the more hype you generate. A suspense tactic.

I’m still concerned because they haven’t said anything about sprint yet, which has always been a lot of player’s top concern. I’m hoping the reason they’re not saying anything about it is because they don’t want to discourage or enrage the pro-sprint players, and not because they don’t want to discourage or enrage the anti-sprint players.
