Halo is halo, CoD is CoD
Halo players play Halo because it’s different from cod and they don’t want to play CoD.
CoD players play CoD because it’s different from Halo and they don’t want to play Halo.
343 thought that mixing some of the elements that made CoD, well CoD,into Halo’s basics they would boost the sales and please the newbies.
Well, it sure does sound like a pretty good deal, but we have 3 problems here:
1 - Halo is a slow paced, skill based arena game, and any characteristic that makes the game runs faster, ruins it.
2 - CoD launches a new game every year, and every year it’s still the same BS. If players want to play Cod, THEY WILL PLAY COD, not some fuck3d up freak that came from frankieinstein’s mind (get it ?).
3 - with that, 343 got it all wrong and took a -Yoink- on both the vets and the new comers faces.
But unfortunately, this is 343’s halo, and that’s what we’re having from now.
I’d hardly say that they will listen to us in the futurr so… yeah thats it for halo.
Don’t expect any change from halo 4’s MP to halo 5’s. Afterall, why would they? Cod never changes !
you have a vital error in your way of thinking OP, its as if you think the only reason why people play CoD is because its not halo and the reason why people play halo is because its not CoD. the reason why people play halo is because its halo and the reason why people play CoD is because its CoD, I know thats a little confusing but thats the best way I could explain.
the reason why 343i borrowed Call of Duty elements isnt mainly because they wanted to attract new/casual/cod players (although it does help) the REAL reason is because 343 wanted to kill CoD.
I know this sounds like a conspiracy theory but at least hear me out first.
the most effective way of killing off a gaming franchise is by taking everything that made that franchise successful in the first place then implementing (somehow) all of that into your next game, Rockband pretty much proved this.
this strategy does two things:
takes sells away from the other game(s)
increases sales for your game
its pretty much a win/win situation in which you not only hurt (if not destroy) your competitor(s) chances of success, you also increase your own.
343i may have made a disappointing game, however you have to admit they`re very smart.
That’s a bit of a stretch no? I’m certain 343i just made Halo 4 with CoD improvements in mind to attract a larger demographic. I don’t accept them as intelligent enough to have used that particular strand of logic to justify what they’ve done to Halo 4.
Ok I have both of the games at the moment they are both great games, the thing I am most enjoying about Bo2 is the zombies, it is REALLY good, and they have improved it alot since the last, I am not able to play Halo 4 anymore anyways, I was permenantley banned for no reason, just check my games and you’ll see, done nothing wrong…

That’s probably the funniest thing I’ve heard all MONTH. Did you play Halo 2? That game was more fast paced than this any day of the week, and Halo has never been a full arena game ever.
So what you’re saying is that faster base movement speed and faster kill times ruin the game? So why is Halo 2 considered by a lot of people the best Halo game, and the game that single handledly made console online gaming what it is today? You’re basically saying you want Halo to be slow paced and boring. Vanilla Halo:Reach is honestly the slowest paced shooter I’ve ever played and it was so boring for me. Only when they added MLG with no bloom and 125% movement speed was it any sense of fun for me, but I still had to deal with choppy movement.
Now 343 gave us back that fast paced gameplay with Halo 4, reminding me of my fun times of Halo 2. The game is not perfect, far from it, but many things 343 did right for old fans of the intense multiplayer. Don’t define Halo as being a slow paced, skill based arena game because it has never been either of those things.
I fully agree. This game doesn’t really play like a Halo. It plays like some Halo-clone that tried to recapture the magic with a “paint by numbers” design approach in an attempt to capture the old magic.
Here we go again with the CoD comparisons. Its totally different. You bought the game expecting it to be like CoD, so you find the most unimportant similarities between them. All games are alike in some way. My brother can tell you a crap ton of ways H4 is like Borderlands… It makes sense in his mind. So would you guys just stop this horse crap? I mean really, 80% of people playing the game like it. So your opinion doesnt really sway those numbers.
What the OP needs to realize is that they are trying to make money and the small minority of people whining about the game dont effect anything if they can pull in a bigger market share. But thats just too logical for these boards.
