343 needs to rework the matchmaking system.

Honestly, it should be based off K/D. Constantly I go into MM, with the restriction ON, and end up with people with, like, 4.0 K/D. I have a 0.32. I cannot continue to get better if the people I verse are ten times better.

If we had a 1-50 ranking system, without the whole ‘lock you in place thing,’ matchmaking players could be effecient. I could stop being teabagged by everyone, and only get teabagged by half the game, while the other half I -Yoink!- them.

Nobody?

How do you only have a 0.32 k/d? lol. Anyways, don’t be intimidated by other peoples k/d when they are over 2.50. It usually means they boosted. Play invasion, legendary campaign, and some firefight until you get better.

343i have already said they are too busy with Halo 4 and it’s wouldn’t be worth the effort to add a decent ranking system to Reach.

Sorry but you’re stuck with Reach’s derp matchmaking until Halo 4 and 343i haven’t revealed anything meaningful about a Halo 4 skill ranking system or if it even contains one.

How those restrictions work is that the game matches you up with people who have the same restrictions on. All that does is slow down search times really, don’t use them.

For example, you prioritize good connection. Now say there are other players who are searching good connections too but really have horrible internets. Now you will most likely get paired up with these players and the quality of connections would be terrible.

Same goes for skill and same language. However, most players have these off so the system is all messed up IMO.

Reach’s trueskill is really lax (i can’t emphasize this enough) and pairs everyone at random regardless of skill. That’s why you’re getting one sided matches beyond or below your skill so that search times are faster.

That’s why many Halo fans say Reach doesn’t have trueskill; because it sucks big ones.

It just doesn’t happen to you; it happens to everyone including me. That’s why we need ranked (not The Arena or Vanilla 1-50) but something to organize players by skill and something we can see.

However, 343 is hell bent on getting Halo 4 ready for E3 and for our consoles. Making that a better experience is much more viable than tweaking the stubborn Reach code and a game that’s going to become more irrelevant come this November 6th (my opinion of course).

As A Critical H1T said restrictions are pointless and only slow down search times.

Some of the most unbalanced matches I’ve played in were when searching with the skill restriction and some of the worst lag I’ve encountered when searching with prefer good connection.

No. if i sit in the back of the map and camp to get a 5 k.d and lose the match why should i be put into higher ranked games then people trying to win the game

I don’t think there are enough players on Reach to do this.

Its a shame that the bigger part of Xbox Live is on one Call of Duty or another.

Restrictions are just lame. I commend you for still playing and having fun with such a low K/D the issue is that most people with K/D’s that low stopped playing reach because they didn’t enjoy it. So just turn of restrictions and search in playlists with alot of players like team slayer(in my opinion is the only playlist worth playing since the removal of squad slayer).

What? Are you insane? If you get a 5.0 K/D for one match, the match is in the bag.

Not really, you can go positive and still lose, especially when your teammates want to play hero and rush strait into the enemies when it’s 49 - 49.

At this point it’d be a complete waste of resources to even attempt at making Reach a better game.

It’s beyond saving. :I
