343 needs to make a NEW FORGE WORLD ASAP!!!

One of the biggest problems I had with Reach’s multiplayer, was that they relied way to much on Forge World. Most of the maps that shipped in Forge World sucked anyway, and Bungie can’t deny that because they had to release updated versions replacing almost all those maps.

Paradiso- sucked, and it got replaced with Utopie or what ever the hell.

HEMORRHAGE- doesn’t feel or look like Blood Gulch at all, the map was flipped around so that red base and blue base are on the opposite sides and the cliff behind red base perfect for snipping is absent. AND the vehicles are totally different from what was on Blood Gulch!

The Cage- I swear to god, ever time I play this -blam!- level, I fall to my death at least once! Bungie replaced it with Uncaged because the original version was really not that great.

Now that I’m doen bi+ching, Forge World was a great idea, but they need a new forge paradise.

I think something that took place in the Covenant Capital City space station ship known as High Charity would be really cool.
Have unique parts of the level were people can forge. For example, have an industrial factory looking area similar to Assembly (Halo 3) were people can forge in a sea of green polluted water in inside flat purple platforms perfect for free-for-all arenas.
Have a couple of hanging gardens (Halo 2) that overlook the city. Then have some sort of sacrosanct temple high above the entire level that overlooks the city center and the dreadnought, has windows that show off space and a view of Delta Halo, and a view of the green ocean. Then have have nice multileveled areas were people can built asymmetrical Covenant maps.

This could increase the Halo Reach’s life cycle but also have a new place for people to built the own maps other than Forge World.

volcano with giant hill in middle as the volcano and you can drop into volcano to a sort of
urban flat landscape. Lava could play the role of killing water.

Cratered moon with massively deep canyons as killzones (like ascension from halo2)

Tundra, it would have some massive forests one of the edges could be a massive drop into the
freezing ocean wile the other sides could be massive walls of frozen snow.

Red desert:Kind of beautiful red sand with giant redish granite cliffs. Also a moon on the
sky kinda like the default desktop on alot of computers called "redmoon desert"It could
feature a dry riverbed or lakebed for flat areas. Maybe throw in a watery oasis?

For a urban environment, what about a massive factory with outlying roads to smaller
buildings. The factory would be huge and the buildings on the outside would be similar to
foundry. The entire thing could be incased in a glass-like dome from the simpsons. The
mapmaker could give the impression that somethting went wrong in the city and it had to be
quarentined. Kinda like from the simpsons movie.

Rainy tropical forest, not much ideas but maybe some trees that are easily maneuverable thru
like jumping from branch to branch nothing special.

just some ideas

All good :slight_smile: But like I say, unfortunatly I don’t think there will be another made-for-Forge map for Halo: Reach. 343i probably see Halo 4 as a more suitable candidate for Forge 3.0 :slight_smile:

Alright, based on the ideas in this thread and a few of my own I will compose a list of all possible areas/environments. HIVPickles23, you can post this to the OP if you wish.

My own

Space Station - A huge UNSC space station with a lot of open space in it. Includes an outside space area.

Grassland - Basically a huge strip of land with a lot of big forge objects to use, including some smaller objects. Mainly for BTB maps.

Ocean - An ocean area with a few small to medium sized islands and possibly a base in the center.

Skyland - An area in the sky (above the clouds) with an empty UNSC Frigate on the side of the map and a lot of area to forge in the sky.

Dude most of these ideas sound like they would kick serious -Yoink-. A volcano dude! Oh my god I wanted a map like that since Halo 3 and a UNSC space station like the Cairo Station or Orbital, that would be sweet. Crater Moon- awesome idea, I thought Bungie might even make a map like that for Halo 3 when they were code naming the Orbital multiplayer level, Moon Base Alpha. And I think instead of a desert map, make a remake of Sandtrap, maybe with different weather but same layout and mine field and ELEPHANTS and just have old, beaten up, “forgable” Forerunner structures so by default the spawn buried in the sand like Sandtrap but you can delete them all and create your own desert themed map. Have all the forge items from Sandbox available as well and even some new ones like destroyed UNSC and Covenant Vehicles like the Phantom or that thing form Relic that was on Sandtrap. And for god’s sake, PLEASE 343 release a damn “forgable” ice level! Have chasms covered in fog, frozen rivers or ponds, LOTS OF SNOW, giant ice structures, and “forgable” frozen Forerunner objects or some other type of object. Even a “forgable” Flood level would be dope.

First off I love the concept of Forge world. But I do feel Forge maps should remain in a Community Maps playlist leaving the other playlists free for proper maps made from the ground up. My reason for this is Forge world maps often have broken spawns whether they are Bungie made or fan made.
Also it really sucks that i’ve p[aid money for maps and every time I enter premium battle or premium slayer there is always a Forge World map present.

Ok now thats out the way I would love to see an arctic based Forge World.
We could have a glacier of Ice as a smooth level battlefield for building. (Warthogs struggling for grip like Halo: CE… Awesome)
It could have canyons, ice caves and even an out to sea area with broken up Ice caps scattered across the sea.

If they end up with a new Forge World style map in Halo 4, they really need to give the player variety, maybe include all these different areas merged in one map somehow, although that would make a map at least EIGHT times larger than Forge World.

My main idea would be to include an icy/glacier type area called ‘When All Turns To Glass’. It would be a large open area with lots of ice and it would be snowing, also, there would be an ability to spawn UNSC Elephants, except different models from the Halo 3 era. They would be built more suitably for the snow and be partially enclosed and rather than having one driver, it would require a crew to work. The reason why this area is called ‘When All Turns To Glass’, is because at the very edge of this area would be a melted area of glacier which would be where the Covenant have glassed and the ice has refrozen to create large coloured pillars of crystals.

Just for scale purposes, this area of the map would be around a similar size to the Canyon area from Halo: Reach’s Forge World.

They need to make a Snowy Forge World, with the option to have it snowing.

You could argue that maps created ground up have broken spawns as well. After all, it is the same crew (Bungie) that made the FW maps for MM as well as the ground up maps for MM.

Not that I am saying I would argue such a case… :wink:

@MrGreenWithAGun

Don’t forget to take into account that Bungie had intended for Halo: Reach to be released this year rather than 2010, but Microsoft forced them to release it in 2010, so they didn’t have as much time to refine a lot of the details, hence the reason for this huge multiplayer update they’re bringing out in late July/early August.

-Yoink!- really has -Yoinked!- Halo over in time constraints. Halo Could have been so much better it Microsoft hadn’t been involved. Only good thing they did is to tell them to make more Halo games. Pre-Xbox Halo looked better than Halo : CE imo.

On-Topic…

I saw a blank forging canvas should be release for FREE. People on Reach seem to refuse to buy the map packs(yet people continue to buy over priced COD map packs…). I can play condemned with infection because most people don’t have it.

The Blank Canvas should have WAY more VARIETY than forge world.

Release a map pack along with the blank forge canvas for maximum results.

@sg1Elim89

I doubt we’ll be seeing any more made-for-Forge maps for Halo: Reach unfortunately, besides, 343i should be working hard on making Forge 3.0 for Halo 4 :stuck_out_tongue: Fingers Crossed :slight_smile:

Well there’s going to be one more map pack for Halo Reach before CEA is released. Hopefully we’ll get a Forge map in that.

@FastAndFurious5

I doubt it, if anything, it would be a map similar to Tempest, not in appearance, but it might be of the same size, yet contain an above-average size Forge palette. 343i will be concentrating on Halo: CEA for now, and then will be starting on Halo 4, so they are probably creating concept art at this stage. Hopefully, they’ll be bringing in Forge 3.0 in Halo 4, so stay tuned!

I think a flood based forge world would be cool even though it wont fit in the timeline the flood weren’t discovered until halo CE but, it would add a little more variety to the game. And i think halo could use more flood themed maps theres only like 3 or 4 throughout the whole franchise. I also want a covenant themed forge world too. I want too many things. :frowning:

@noopis

I think a lot of people seem to want a Forge World with many different cultures included, like Covenant, Flood, UNSC, Forerunner… but what 343i need to take into account is HOW to do this. These are their options I think:

A) They create a Forge World that allows us to heighten/lower terrain, place our own water etc. And create different Forge palattes for each of these factions.

B) They create a Forge World which already has all of these different areas, like a big landmass with a Covenant Cruiser overhead which can be forged on etc.

C) They simply include different Forge Worlds altogether. Covenant Forge World, Forerunner Forge World, UNSC Forge World, Flood Forge World.

I would personally pick ‘A’.

There are multiple Halos each with their own environments. The possibility of 343 creating different forge worlds for Halo 4 is somewhat high since it technically would be canon.

High Charity?

YES! YES! (This is delicous)

A sounds good. I’ve always wanted a full map and weapon/vehicle editing kit personally, but I realize that would be beyond the usefulness of most players, but being able to edit terrain would be a most welcome addition to the forge tools. Still pushing for the weapon editor though :slight_smile:

@FRI Specter

I think we have more chance of seeing the ability to edit terrain if anything. I don’t think 343i would want to release a vehicle editor at this day in age, possibly when it comes to the later years of their Halo-reign they will think about it. But I think there WILL be more options when it comes to vehicle, for example, instead of having ‘Rocket Warthog’ ‘Gauss Warthog’ ‘Chaingun Warthog’ in one menu, they should just have ONE Warthog, and when selected, you can press ‘B’ for vehicle options and there you can change the ENTIRE colour of the vehicle, what turret is on the back, and what style of vehicle it is, perhaps ‘Snowmobile Warthog’, ‘Normal Warthog’, ‘Amphibious Warthog’ etc. They could do the same with other vehicles like the Falcon, Scorpion, and perhaps the Sparrowhawk should they choose to include it in Halo 4.
