So for people that have friends they can always play with, this probably isn’t an issue, but for people like me who have to solo queue into games of arena, this is completely frustrating. Even tho the search preference is set to balanced for me, it seems most games I get put in, i’m put against fireteams of 4, or my team are new to the game because I end up almost always doubling or more second place’s points or kills on my teams leaderboard. It seems the game isn’t matching me with people of my skill and they are putting me against people that are always in teams working together while i’m stuck with randoms who end up quiting on me so I lose my req boosts or xp boots I use on those matches. I still remember the one time I was playing with a friend (sometimes I am able to play with friends, but a lot of time I have to solo queue) in double to get our rank, and even tho we were unranked, we went against a platinum and a champion rank 46 player 3 times, and they weren’t even back to back matches, we also went up against two different sets of Onyx ranked teams.
And it also feels like the slayer gametype is heavily favored in matchmaking as well for the team skirmish playlist, out of the 8 matches I just played, 6 of them were slayer, 1 was capture the flag, but I joined that match in progress, and one was strongholds. I rather play objective gametypes, but I still remember that 85% of the time I did Team Arena playlist, I still had slayer most of the time, and I had the matchmaking problems said before.
I remember the matchmaking being a lot better at putting people with the same ranks during release but now it’s all gone to crap and it seems the ranking system and search preference is completly ignore for the game and it just throws you into a random game. I’ve been wanting to play this game a lot more, but these issues are making me enjoy the game less and make me not want to play, I hope that 343 can fix this somehow.
And I know I can just play warzone, but I prefer Arena over it.

Yeah what this guy said. If you dont enjoy playing rank, they have a whole new Social playlist added with pretty much all the same game types.

That’s what i’ve been playing and that’s where i’m experiencing the problem still, it doesn’t matter whether i’m playing social or ranked, same issue
I stopped taking competitive Halo seriously. I generally only play infection and firefight these days due to the blurred lines between social and ranked. But with the recent update, I haven’t tested much so I cant say anything other than I hate grifball now

I don’t take it that much either, but I love playing CTF or Strongholds, so that’s why I play it, since firefight is meh and so is infection for me. Grifball I never had much interest.
