I was obsessed with this stuff before much was known about the forerunners or mendicant bias, it attracts people ya’know? I hope for something like this in Halo Xbox One.

The Didact is much more unnerving if you read the Greg Bear books. Also 343 Guilty Spark is still alive and hijacked a UNSC ship the Rubicon to search for more Forerunners. The whole stuff with ONI in the extended universe is interesting and dark although poorly written and researched.

The gravemind and guilty spark had ominous personalities and you could never trust them. The prophets were master deceivers and a threat that humanity couldn’t seemingly match. You had several different agendas happening all at the same time. <mark>The Didact was a little too straight forward. I didn’t feel the same threat because he seemed more barbaric than complex</mark>. The new covenant and prometheans were simply protecting him in a defensive manner. Medicant Bias is something I am looking forward to in future games as well as the last surviving precursor, and the Spartan 2s that we know are alive from the Halo 3 memorial cutscene.

He was different from the other villains in that he knew exactly what he wanted and he had a reason behind it (although it was horribly explained in the campaign), and that above all else, he had a badass voice actor. Almost reminded me of the prophet of truth from Halo 2. Only he wasn’t a conniving character.

I don’t think backmasking is necessary, you don’t really need to reverse gibberish just to be able to flesh out a character. This is one of my main issues with Marty’s music. For me, it ruined the vibe by having some sort of demonic whisper as it played.
